I played the Outlast 2 demo last year, and it was a lot of fun… if your definition of fun is cowering in your bathroom cupboard mumbling unintelligibly and trying to forget the horrors you just witnessed. It was a terrifying blast, and if the full game captures the same creepy feeling of the demo, it’s set to be even scarier than Resident Evil 7.

Well, we won’t have to wait all that long to find out, as Outlast 2 is expected to launch this April. The game’s developer also revealed that a physical collection called Outlast Trinity is on the way.

In case you need a little refresher, here’s what the game is all about:

“You are Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with your wife, Lynn. The two of you are investigative journalists willing to take risks and dig deep to uncover the stories no one else will dare touch. You’re following a trail of clues that started with the seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe. The investigation has lead you miles into the Arizona desert, to a darkness so deep that no one could shed light upon it, and a corruption so profound that going mad may be the only sane thing to do.”

The digital version of the game will go live for PC, PS4 and XBO on 25 April. Releasing alongside the game will be Outlast Trinity, a physical collection for XBO and PS4 that’ll include Outlast, its Whistleblower expansion, and Outlast 2.
