Gun Media’s Friday the 13th is yet another addition to the growing list of games I don’t want to get too hyped about. That’s mostly because it looks like it could be a really fun and intense horror movie simulator or just another (less exciting) Evolve. Either way, we’ll find out when the game’s core multiplayer goes live next month.
Accompanying the announcement, the developer has released yet another trailer filled with murder-porn and some other things. But mostly the murder-porn.
“Friday the 13th: The Game is a third-person horror, survival game where players take on the role of a teen counsellor, or for the first time ever, Jason Voorhees,” says the game’s official description. “You and six other unlucky souls will do everything possible to escape and survive while the most well-known killer in the world tracks you down and brutally slaughters you.”
Gun Media previously revealed that they’re working on a single-player mode for the game, as well as the eventual inclusion of offline bots, but its full multiplayer offering will be made available on PC, PS4, and XBO starting on 26 May. Oh, and according to the video’s description, it’ll cost $40 (R523).
