Narco Road, the first expansion for Ghost Recon Wildlands, added a bunch of silly new patriotic stuff – you know, more of what Tarryn didn’t like in her review of the game. Well, according to Ubisoft, the game’s second expansion, titled Fallen Ghosts, will take on a much more sombre tone.

It’ll come with a new faction, new missions, enemy types, skills, weapons, and some other neat things.

Fallen Ghosts will go live first for season pass owners on 30 May, and as a standalone expansion on 6 June, explains Ubisoft on its blog. The DLC’s story will pick up where the main story left off, with the Santa Blanca Cartel in ruins, and the rest of the country unstable. This instability leads to the formation of a new faction called “Los Extranjeros”, and they’re all about “politely” asking every American agent to leave the country.

“With this in mind, the Ghosts are sent on one final mission: pick up the remaining US citizens and get them out of the country. But when their helicopter is shot down en-route, they find themselves stuck in the middle of the jungle without external support, and with the well-equipped and heavily-armed Los Extranjeros closing in.” The “well-equipped” faction consists of four main enemy types, namely armoured, elite snipers, jammers, and covert ops.

The DLC will consist of 15 additional campaign missions that’ll task players with “taking down four new bosses in three different regions”. Players will start the expansion with a level 30 character “equipped with all the main game skills, and an increased level cap of 35”. Nine additional skills will be added, as well as six new weapons and “four new side-activity types”. Oh, and advanced and expert difficulties will be made even more challenging.
