The original Shadow Warrior released in 1997 for PC, and was an over-the-top action FPS starring
a racist stereotype Lo Wang. The game was successfully rebooted in 2013 to general acclaim and praise, bringing the original’s swordplay and teenage humour to modern systems. The sequel, Shadow Warrior 2 was released in 2016 for PC, and quite recently for consoles. In case you missed the reboot, both games are being offered in a bundle at a ridiculously low price.
Honestly, at first I thought this was a glitch. On PlayStation 4, you can pick up the standalone Shadow Warrior 2 for R629, which is relatively cheap as far as console games go. Or, you can buy the Shadow Warrior Collection for the eyebrow raising R549. Yep, both games cost less than the standalone version. It’s a similar case on Xbox One, where the Shadow Warrior 2 – Launch Edition will set you back $35 (roughly R463).
Steam gamers won’t be left in the cold, they can pick up their own Shadow Warrior Collection for R282. Like the others, it bundles both the reboot and its sequel, as well as the 1997 original. If you’re at all interested in the games, you should act quickly. The PS4 offer expires on 1 June, Xbox One on 2 June, and Steam in a mere eight hours.
