There are two universal constants in this world: taxes, and more Pokémon games. Fortunately, one of those is far easier to get excited about than the other, unless you work in finance. Anyway, Nintendo has released a few trailers showing the direction the franchise will be taking in the immediate future, so hit the jump to catch ’em all.

The first trailer shows off Pokkén Tournament DX for the Switch. The game will be a port of the 2016 Wii U fighting game that pits Pokémon against each other in a bout of fisticuffs. The game looks to utilise all of the Switch’s portable aspects, such as sharing Joy-Con controllers to play competitively. The last bit of the trailer also announced Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, exclusively for the 3DS. The games will be upgraded versions of last year’s Sun and Moon, and will feature additional story elements, new gameplay features, and what looks like armoured Legendaries.

In a separate trailer, Nintendo also announced that the Game Boy Color versions of Pokémon Gold and Silver will be hitting the 3DS Virtual Console on 22 September. The trailer confirmed that the games will support wireless battle and trade, as well as the Pokémon Bank. Nintendo had previously released Pokémon Red and Blue for Virtual Console, and it must have been met with success. Hopefully, we’ll see further generations and games from the Game Boy Advance and DS become available.

Pokkén Tournament DX will be launching for the Nintendo Switch on 22 September, the same day as Gold and Silver launch for the 3DS Virtual Console. Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will launch exclusively for the 3DS systems on 22 November.
