And not just because Jeff Goldblum is back in it as the elegantly sleazy Dr Ian Malcolm (but that too), but also because Universal Entertainment has revealed that the sequel is called Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom with a debut poster featuring the tagline “Life finds a way”. Like Dr Ian Malcolm said it would. Jeff Goldblum is totally in it, you guys.
The poster also includes a 22 June 2018 launch date, although that’s presumably in the US only. We sometimes get movies before the US, and sometimes after, so I guess we’ll have to wait to find out exactly how life finds a way, but maybe it involves two mommy dinosaurs who love each other very much. Now I actually want that to be real, so we can point and laugh at people on social media arguing how unnatural and unrealistic it is for two genetically-engineered dinosaur lesbians to have a kid.
Besides Jeff Goldblum (LIFE FINDS A WAY! BECAUSE JEFF GOLDBLUM IS IN IT, GET IT), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom also stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, reprising their roles as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing in the first reboot, and co-writer Colin Trevorrow has suggested that BD Wong’s Dr Wu – last seen absconding his lab duties with a bunch of dinosaur eggs – might be involved too, according to Entertainment Weekly.
