Not too long ago, Tarryn told us to act surprised when Activision announces that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will launch as a standalone title this month. Well, I hope you’ve kept up with your acting lessons because that time is now.

That’s right, Activision recently officially revealed that the game will be sold separately from 27 June (tomorrow), and will be available both digitally and physically. That date only applies to PS4 versions of the game, with other platforms presumably getting it a month later. Fans can pick up the game minus the pricey Variety Map Pack DLC for $39.99 (R515). Here’s a brand new launch trailer if you’re into that kind of thing.

Activision also announced that a five-week seasonal event will accompany the game’s launch (relaunch?) featuring “a bevy of in-game giveaways, XP events and new playlists across multiple titles, including a new summer-themed map for Modern Warfare Remastered that will be available through the duration of the event, along with much more to be announced on Tuesday.”

Thanks, Polygon.
