Given the extraordinary success of 2014’s Dragon Age: Inquisition, a new game in the swords-‘n’-sorcery RPG series is matter or when, not if, and although we don’t how much longer it’s going to be, the BioWare team is apparently already busy with… something. That’s exactly what franchise creative director Mike Laidlaw says, anyway.

“Something is happening with Dragon Age,” he told the 1099 podcast this week. See? “Something”. He said it.

He wouldn’t divulge much more than that, however, except that the studio is “hiring a lot of people” and that “as I’ve jokingly said, I am the creative director for the Dragon Age franchise and they haven’t fired me yet”. He also added that BioWare is working on “other things” (presumably besides the space magic co-op blast-o-rama Anthem), but we can probably eliminate a new Mass Effect sequel from the list of possibilities.
