First released by SNK for its Neo Geo systems, and later ported to the Sega Megadrive and Nintendo SNES (… and, um, MAME), Super Baseball 2020 is the corporate-dystopian future of sports games, as anticipated by Japanese game developers in 1991. It’s like a regular retro console baseball game, but it’s got bombs on the field and exploding robots, and that makes it the best sports game of ever. Those are the rules.

It’s launched today as part of the ACA NEOGEO series on PS4 and the US Xbox One store (I can’t find a South African store link, for some reason), and supports local multiplayer for two players and online leaderboards. Now can we get a new, modern reboot of the game? Because that would be super rad 2020.
