Persona is a long running and extremely popular series of JRPGs developed by Atlus. They follow individual and separate storylines, but all feature the common elements of high-schoolers battling demons, while also finding time to socialise (… just like real life – Ed.). The series has also seen numerous spinoffs, such as Persona 4: Arena, and the rhythm game Persona 4: Dancing all Night. Following the latter’s success, Atlus has announced that two more dancing game spin-offs are on the way, and have released some upbeat teaser trailers.
The spinoffs are based on the third and fifth games, and are titled Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night, and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night. Both trailers show off gameplay, but no UI elements. They each show characters from both games getting down on the dance floor, and they even turn Persona 3‘s suicide mechanic into a fresh dance move.
Another announcement is for Persona Q2, the sequel to 2014’s 3DS crossover RPG starring characters from Persona 3 and 4. The game was well received, and it looks like Q2 will feature characters from the recently released fifth game. While Q2 doesn’t have a release date on its teaser website, Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night are slated to launch in mid-2018, for PS4 and PS Vita. Now that’s great and all, but can’t they rather port all the Persona games to PS4? Please? I missed out on 3 and 4 on PS2.
