First launched on Steam Early Access in 2015 as H1Z1, then renamed H1Z1: Just Survive the next year to distinguish the regular game (the one with zombies) from its H1Z1: King of the Hill mode (the one without zombies), the game now been re-renamed Just Survive, just because, developer Daybreak Game Company has confirmed, with the “most comprehensive update in the game’s history”.
“A new narrative has been established, separating Just Survive from the H1Z1 universe. Just Survive’s rebranding and content update represents the development team’s evolved vision for the game and lays the foundation for future updates in the months to come,” the studio explains in the announcement.
The update includes a whole new world map called Badwater Canyon, “designed with multiple styles of gameplay in mind and featuring targeted loot distribution, strategic verticality, exploration opportunities, and hundreds of easily identifiable base pads for Stronghold construction”, plus a new base-building system and a complete gear and loot renovation, and other stuff.
It’s still in Early Access, and who knows if it’s ever coming out on PS4.
