Indie developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has announced that his delightful farming sim Stardew Valley will be making its portable debut later this week, launching on the Nintendo Switch eShop on 5 October. If you fancy yourself a bit of a farmer but couldn’t be buggered to actually manhandle a spade or pluck your cherry blossoms, Stardew Valley is a real diamond in the rough, and well worth checking out.

It’s been banging around on various platforms for some time now, but this will be the first time it’s gone mobile. Previous versions have been praised pretty much across the board – the Xbox One version, for example, has a Metacritic rating of 89… that’s more than Destiny 2, for crying out loud! So Nintendo Switch gamers will probably be quite looking forward to this quaint little sim.

Stardew Valley will be with us by the end of the week for $14.99 (R204.00), so aim your Switch at the eStore and make it happen.
