Destiny 2 junkies will be able to sleep in soon (or maybe stop calling out of work because omg, I’m so sorry, boss, but it’s the diarrhoea agai- oh, you don’t want to know any more about it? Okay), because with the launch of the game’s Curse of Osiris expansion, Bungie is dialling the activity reset clocks up by eight hours.
“Throughout Destiny 1’s lifespan, players would frequently encounter an issue where weekly resets would not always coincide with content releases. This would prevent impacted players from earning new rewards,” the developer explains in an update on its blog. “Countermeasures were taken by disabling activity playlists, but we were unable to prevent every scenario. Additionally, we’re seeking to align the Milestone resets with event availability, such as Trials of the Nine or Iron Banner, to provide a uniform experience for players to follow each week.”
So from 5 December, these resets will move up from 11:00 to 19:00 local time, including both the daily reset and the weekly reset every Tuesday, and also special event resets when those are a thing.
The studio has also announced that the first Clarion Call clan event is starting at 20:00 local time on Friday 17 October, and until the same time on Monday, you’ll get double XP for playing with at least one clan member in your fireteam. And, uh, that’s it. For antisocial misanthropes who don’t want to mix with other people because they’re gross and stupid, Bungie promises that “there will be future Clarion Calls that won’t require you to play with a clan”, so there’s something for everybody.
