Czech-based Oxymoron Games has revealed a spiritual successor to Bullfrog’s Theme Hospital. It’s called Project Hospital, and it looks pretty sick.

If you’ve been longing for another go at crafting the perfect medical facility, this could be just what the doctor ordered. It’s been two decades since we last had something like this, see – but clearly we just needed to be patient. Okay, I’ll stop now. MEDICAL PUNS!

But seriously now. Project Hospital is Oxymoron’s first game, and it looks like it takes over where Theme Hospital left off, allowing gamers to micromanage just about every aspect of the business of building and operating a hospital. You’ll need to plan the construction and layout, manage staff, and research more advanced technologies to deal with increasingly complicated conditions. It all sounds like a lot of hard work. Or an absolute treat, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Oxymoron is made of industry veterans who have, between them, worked on well-known games including Mafia II, Mafia III, Quantum Break, Top Spin 4 and Euro Truck Simulator, so they should be able to nurse the hospital simulation genre back to good health.

Project Hospital is set for release on Steam sometime in 2018.
