Since funding the game on Kickstarter back in February, Cape Town indie studio The Brotherhood has apparently been very busy building a uniquely exotic post-apocalyptic African world for its protagonists, today revealing a new gameplay video that introduces the Kettle, one of Beautiful Desolation’s retro-futuristic wasteland locations.

“Our previous games focused on isolation, while in Beautiful Desolation we’ve opened the doors to our new world, creating environments populated with vibrant and strange characters,” explains designer Chris Bischoff. “We want a living, breathing world for Mark to explore that includes augmented humans, drones, robots, and bizarre animals.”

Beautiful Desolation is expected to launch sometime in 2019. In the meantime, you can find out more about its robo-dogs, genre innovations, and “surprises” for South African gamers in our Q&A with Chris.
