Has anyone else noticed this recent trend of Nintendo Switch release dates being announced within days of the actual release? In Xbox One/PS4/PC land, we salivate over release dates for months, nay, years. Then you read news pieces like this: 2K has revealed a release date for the Nintendo Switch version of WWE 2K18, and it’s… today.

It’s like one of Steve Austin’s Stone Cold Stunners – the release dates come out of nowhere. Anyway, if you’re into rasslin’ and you’ve been waiting to slip into your spandex tights and get down to business on your Nintendo Switch, it’s out on 6 December in the US. The Switch version just about holds its own against the other iterations, so you’ll get the full-fat DLC lineup, the improved myCareer mode, and the rest, with one concession: WWE 2K18 on Switch maxes out at six characters on screen simultaneously, compared to eight on the other systems.

This marks the end of a savage dry spell for wrestling fans with Nintendo allegiances, as this is the first time the WWE will be plying its trade on any Nintendo hardware in around five years. It’s a pity, then, that 2K’s WWE franchise has been pretty much been resting on its laurels for years now anyway. Still, beggars can’t be choosers, right?
