If you weren’t already put off by its constant internet connection requirement and confirmed microtransactions – and, I mean, those things are kind of inevitable now, anyway, so does it even matter? – you can now play the Metal Gear Survive public beta on PS4 and Xbox One. Available from today until 21 January, the beta features the game’s four-player cooperative multiplayer mode, with three missions on two maps, and something the press stuff describes as “live events”, whatever those are. Beta participants will also blag some exclusive swag, including a Fox Hound 2 nameplate, a Metal Gear Rex Head accessory, and a bandana, so everybody will know you were there, man, when the game launches next month.
