A woman shot three employees at the YouTube campus in San Bruno, California, before an apparent suicide on the premises yesterday. Although no motive has been properly established, alleged perp and local resident Nasim Aghdam, 39, had previously complained that YouTube was discriminating against users to prevent “equal growth opportunity” on its platform.

The as yet unidentified victims include a 36-year old man, and two women, 27 and 32, all of whom are being treated at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. Although early reports of the incident suggested that the man was Aghdam’s boyfriend, this has not actually been confirmed.

Her social media accounts were almost immediately suspended , but according to the BBC, Metro, and Telegraph, Aghdam – a vegan body builder and animal rights activist who posted content under the alias “Nasim Wonder1” – had criticised YouTube, claiming that “there is no equal growth opportunity on YouTube or any other video sharing site” and that her videos were being “filtered” to limit views and potential revenue.

Police found her dead of a self-inflicted shot by a 9mm handgun at the scene.
