Red dwarf season9! After 10 years of waiting.

One of the greatest Sci-fi sitcoms is back!

After seeing the first new episode in over 10 years. It felt like meeting up with a bunch of old friends.
Rimmer is still a collosal smeghead!
Cat is still as vain as hell.
Lister is still a collosal slob (the ironing with snot to irritate Rimmer bit is priceless)
And Kryten returns from his holiday on a broomcloset in V-deck.


For those who don't know:

Red dwarf started in 1988.

It stars Lister who works on the gigantic mining ship "red dwarf"
After getting caught smuggling a cat onboard he is sentenced to cryogenic sleep.
When he wakes up, he finds that the entire crew died millions of years ago due to a radiation leak and that he might be the last human alive.

The smuggled cat evolved into a james brown-alike.
The supercomputer "holly" has gone senile.
His incredibly irritating roommate Arnold Rimmer is brought back as a hologram to keep Lister company.
And a Service robot named Kryton.

I own all the seasons on dvd. great show.

When the new eps will start airing here, I'm not sure.

Season3 is my fav. The boxsets are pretty cheap from take2.

I remember a line that offended people in season 2 all those years ago.

When watching a old news tape:

Oh! I must say, Chris Barrie is absolutly brilliant as Arnold Rimmer.
What a collosal Smeghead. Such a amazing twat and a-hole! Seeing Lister irritate the hell out of him is probly one of the best things about this series.


In 1994, the americans tried to make their own version....... its sucked balls. didn't even last 1 ep.

Well, Grant Naylor said its for the fans.
Apparantly getting funding for these 3 new eps wasn't easy.
It never really started making money till the dvds started coming out.

You can see the actors love playing these roles.
I've seen the first 2 new eps. I recommend it for any dwarf fan who have missed the crew.
I see take2 sells entire series boxsets (1-8) for R910.00

From what I've seen they use alot more greenscreen effects.
Though it wouldn't be dwarf if it didnt have some cheesy sfx. :P

Apparantly one of the reasons it took so long is because BBC wasn't interested in more eps.
So finally they got the rights back from bbc and now it shows on the british tv channel "dave"
Depending on the ratings, we might get more than 3 new eps.
