Hey Guys

Here is my issue. My Blackberry has always served me well, its a great phone. But now I just recently updated the OS to V4.5 (Research in Motion v4.5). I am now unable to access the internet. My service books hav been deleated completely. I have a vodacom contract and have dialed *111# gona through the process and when I get to automatically choose phone model. It says "Vodacom doesnt support Research in motion Blackberry Curve 8310". I have tried selecting Blackberry 8310 manualy but it just says Unable to Send.

I have tried resetting it to factory defalt I have tried wipeing it. And i also used that JL_cmdr but I can only find v4.5 online. I used it and installed the Vodacom v4.5 but it still says i have the RIM version.

Does anyone have any idea how I can restore my old OS or fix this problem in any way? I have gone into vodacom and they said they are not allowed to handle Blackberrys and must send it to Blackberry themselves, which could take 10-14 days, and as im sure you all know in SA that means about 3-4 months. I can't live without my phone for that long.

Thanks in advance.

Those of you still wondering and looking into this error (even though you should all be using OS7 phones already) will be pleased to know that I worked on a similar issue back in 2010. This was a problem on Vodacom's part and restoring the OS to a previous version that supported the correct service books worked like a treat. OS5 users also had this issue at one point and RIM South Africa eventually fixed it for good.

Now its just BIS that goes tits-up every now and then.
