I was browsing around Numetro and came upon this Tarantino gem, this will surely be a great World War II epic!

It's by far my most anticipated film. Can't wait to see how Pitt does under QT's direction/writing.

It's blocked at work. Besides, I prefer to not see any clips of a QT film before release.
Speaking of blocked, is there an SA release date? I can't access the SK/Nu Metro site.

Numetro says 23 oct, you should try watch this clip, not really a spoiler, just lets you see who's in it and what the plot etc is!!

Hell yeah! I just doubt if it will be better than Band of Brothers though.

Probably not, that is just the bench mark, but will be cool to see how close it comes, if you've watched the trailer the way they line up is like the TCM classic on DSTV " The Dirty Dozen", so cool how they're doing a new direction, not just shot and move!! Damn can't wait!!

I don't think that they're at all comparible. BoB tells a dramatised version of a true life story, with the aim of showing the grittiness of survival. Inglorious Bastards is supposed to be a spagetti western mixed with a revenge flick, set in WWII.

But yeah, BoB was awsome, and IG is sure to be, but I wouldn't directly compare them.

Valid point. These two aren't in the same class at all except for the whole WWII setup. So it should be good both ways either then. Bet the soldiers are gonna bleed like cows in Inglorious Bastards though seeing that it's a QT feature...

Azi and I just got back from seeing this, and oh my god it's BRILLIANT. Tarantino's best since Pulp Fiction, in my opinion. There are some truly superb performances, especially Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa.

I highly recommend this. It's got Tarantino's usual great dialogue moments, really dark humour, and look-away-from-the-screen-because-omg-that's-so-gross moments.

That statement has inflated my interest considerably.

I shall make a concerted effort to go see the film when I have the time.

Seriously. I loved it.

Christoph Waltz deserves an Oscar. An absolutely riveting performance. Best film I've seen this year.

How was Pitt? We're only getting the film in early October here :(
I'm so glad to hear that it's good. Many of the reviews I've read have been very negative. I believe that the end sequence (to David Bowie) is something special?

Pitt was brilliant. I really love it when he plays oddball characters.

The sequence with the Bowie song is not quite at the end, but it's really great. It's funny that there are now two films which juxtapose a Bowie song with a totally different time period, and both have worked beautifully (the other film being A Knight's Tale).

Yeah, he was brilliant in 12 Monkeys. Possibly his best role. I really rate him as one of the greats.

look-away-from-the-screen-because-omg-that's-so-gross moments. Meh, this is the only thing I don't like about Tarantino's directing.
