Where can I get a power cable with the transformer (little black box) for a HP ScanJet 2400? I've emailed Incredible Deception but they haven't replied and I've searched online but have found nothing.

Well, what happened to your old one?

It died for some weird reason.

My adapter for my laptop died on me suddenly after two years of use. All I did was take it into a TV repair shop to have it looked at, because those guys deal with blown boards and adapters on a daily basis and can repair them quite easily. Three days later. I paid R100 and walked out with my repaired adapter. It even has a light that switches on to tell me there's power flowing to it, and I never knew how bright it could be until it came back.

If anyone's looking for HP printer spares, you can try these three companies:

HPshop.co.za (http://hpshop.co.za/t-contact.aspx)
Partserve Spares Channel (http://www.partserve.co.za/partssearch.php)
Service Parts Logistics (http://spl.co.za/solution/parts-distribution/authorised-parts-reseller/hp-parts-for-sa-official-dealer/)

Because HP tends to only change power supplies according to printer families, you'll also find that many Inkjet and laser printers in the same family use the same charger. If you have a local PC shops that also collects printers and spare parts, ask them to look around for you. There are also multi-voltage adapters available with different pins, but they'll only work if you can control the amperage and voltage and have the correct pin. In most cases, its just safer to buy original parts because you have no idea how deeply HP customises things to have spare parts sales work out in their favour.
