Yeah I was checking this out, but I'm more interested in the new DLC they've promised for the original game.

New DLC would be nice. Something to play while waiting for the October/November rush of rpgs.

I think I'll wait until a couple of weeks before the release, and then clock the game so that I can carry my saves over. If I do the playthough now, I know I'll lose the saves before the release of ME2.

Mmm, you don't need to worry that much if you are just able to copy your save games somewhere, you do not have to worry about moving it over anywhere, I moved my save game folder from Windows Vista (32) environment when I formated to Windows 7 (64bit) with no worries at all it just works perfectly.

They started with Mass Effect 2, almost as soon as the first one was out the door... so it is not like they have not been busy.

I didn't really get into it, because of the bloom issues with a 1950. After I upgraded 2 weeks ago, this happens. MLIA.

Most likely it was issues between coordination of BioWare and the company who did the pc port.

I think calling the p.c. version a port is an insult seeing as though they added so much functionality, not least of which the magnificently improved UI.

Romance confrontation conversation will fire after 3rd planet complete

What does this mean?

I thought Mass Effect was awesome but I did have this minor issue with strange looking shadows on the characters faces on top of the shading (it wasn't a graphic error, it's just the way the shadows worked) which hasn't been changed here.

Also want the DLC.

Think exactly what it says - after you have completed all three of those early main campaign missions you initially get ummm... save the scientist, save the colony and investigate the research project gone wrong, you will be able to action that conversation, I think pre this patch you could only action this conversation a bit later in the game. Is that making any sense?

Don't think they will change anything around how shadows are handled. Should look a bit better in ME 2 :)

Its a great port t but its still a port. PC version wasn't the master version. Just like Dragon Age Origins the xbox 360 version and ps 3 version is a port from the main code of the pc version but the gui and controls are adapted to suit the different platforms.

And still the permanent-overheating bug isn't fixed. Dammit.

Eh, what? I recently played through the game (2 weeks ago) and never encountered this issue.

(Also, pity the new DLC wasn't released 2 weeks ago. Heh.)

It's a beautiful little blessing that, sometimes, causes your guns not to cool down at all should they over-heat.
This issue can be solved by quick-saving and reloading, but seeing as you cannot save in combat, this can be a bit of a problem. Especially when you really, really, really NEED to fire.

Yeah, that is what I assumed you meant.

You sure they haven't fixed that yet? Like I said, I never encountered that particular issue. Maybe I was just very lucky.

Actually, the game ran pretty well on my machine. If I remember correctly, my character got stuck to a wall once where I was forced to reload, and the game crashed to desktop one or two times. And other than the ugly shadows during the rendered 'cutscenes' and conversations, the game looked great.

Indeed it does. Besides that little thorn in my side, I am very pleased with ME.

I found it usually happens in boss battles. It happened to me when fighting Saren and again when fighting the boss guy in the DLC. In the end I had to kill Saren with my pistol because I didn't realize my guns weren't cooling off. :/
