We believe that adding Marvel to Disney's unique portfolio of brands provides significant opportunities for long-term growth and value creation," Disney president and chief executive Robert Iger said.

"We are pleased to bring this talent and these great assets to Disney."

"Disney is the perfect home for Marvel's fantastic library of characters given its proven ability to expand content creation and licensing businesses," said Marvel chief executive Ike Perlmutter.

It's the best of both worlds...

Picture it now. Shes a teen pop sensation by day, and a superhero by night, and she has to worry about boys liking her... \o/

Spider-White and the Seven X-Men. A Marvel/Disney collaboration featuring all of your favorite characters! Will Snow White give into her primal lust for spiders? Will Wolverine finally grow into a swan? Will that carpet hold Colossus' weight? All will be revealed in this coming-of-age tail with delightful new sing-along songs!

in my opinion, on a scale of 1-10... this is not good. This may very well go down as the act that brings about the end-times...

Stan Lee is too old to keep marvel alive. Disney has good animators and creative directors right? amiright?

It's a good point, but couldn't someone else have taken it over within Marvel?

Logistically it makes sense to let Disney in, but...I dunno, it's just a conflict of interest I suppose. It's like if the guys who made Care Bears absorbed Rockstar Games! You see what I'm getting at? it's just weird, and the potential for ruining it for everyone is high! What if they start enforcing "family"ness on the comics and start censoring all the action??!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!

I was being sarcastic...

TBH I think Disney is the last place to look for a acquisition. Marvel isn't exactly fun family entertainment for kids. Though it might be stimulated as such, it would ultimately have more of a PG+ vibe. But who knows. this might be good? Like how do we know that Disney hasn't been involved with Marvel before? :O

Disney also owns ESPN, I don't see The Mouse running around on there.

They also own Touchstone Pictures, remember The Royal Tenenbaums and Good Morning Vietnam? Family-friendly, right? Right!?

They also own Miramax Films, and who can't remember the kid-freindly Sex, lies, and videotape?or the cute The Crying Game. The company also made films such as Pulp Fiction, Heavenly Creatures and Shakespeare in Love.

The amount of ****ing stupid in this thread is incredible, do some ******* research next time before you decide to post.

Do some ****ing spell check next time :P Just playing.

I agree with you, just because its Disney taking over Marvel doesn't mean it's the next High School Musical, I'm sure that's not all Disney is known for.
