I didn't even know they were making one. Wait, no, I probably did... but forgot ~_~

I absolutely loved the first one, but the preview for this one doesn't seem to be adding up to what the first one did. I may just give it a miss so as not to ruin the original film memory.

I thought the original was the best movie, would certainly be in my top 10. I'll have to watch the clip tomorrow as i'm replying on a phone. To be edited then.

I read about a sequel quite a while back. Almost certainly won't match up to the original, but I'll definitely see it. It's a shame we won't be seeing Rocco though, he was part of what made the first so great.

I can't believe they made a sequel. It doesn't need one.

Oh dear. This begs the question; will we be seeing Snatch 2?

The Boondock Saints director Troy Duffy is ready to do a deal for a game based on the movie and its upcoming sequel.
Speaking in this interview, Duffy claimed that there are a lot of people interested in a game based on the movies:
“There’s been an unbelievable amount of requests for that. There’s some web sites that do ‘The Top 5 Movies That Should be Turned Into Videogames’, and Boondock was number one. It’s almost like it’s geared for comic books and videogames. Yeah, we’re into that right now as long as we can make the deal.”
If you’ve not seen or heard of The Boondock Saints, don’t worry…it didn’t make it to major theatrical release due to the Columbine incident, but its sequel is out in theatres on October 30th in the US. We recommend you watch the original, right now…go!

That just makes me even more skeptical to be honest.

A game? ;_;

If it's pulled off well enough it can be quite a spectacle. John Woo meets Army of Two? Just think about that for a second.

Actually, I think Parker might be onto something here. As long as they keep it adult orientated I reckon a game featuring the Macmanus brothers would be awesome. Just add a soundtrack by the Dropkick Murphies and I think you'd have a good game going. As long as it is developed completely separately from the films. Kind of like a co-op Max Payne.
I can't believe they made a sequel. It doesn't need one.
While I agree with you and don't think the original NEEDED a sequel, I sure as hell would like to see one. My hopes are high considering Duffy is at the helm and the majority of the original cast is back. With the obvious omission of the brilliance that is Willem Dafoe.
It's a shame we won't be seeing Rocco though, he was part of what made the first so great.
According to IMDB Rocco is in the sequel, although probably in flashbacks.

Probably, seeing as they've got that new guy trying to fill the void.

That new guy? THAT NEW GUY?!
Darren Aronofsky is not a 'new' guy. The man gave us Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain and The Wrestler. He's not new, he's my brother.

Not only is he not "new", he is AWESOME.
But new to the Boondock Saints "franchise"? Yes.

I liked the original (not a fan or anything but I thought it was pretty cool), though I've seen it again recently and it's not that amazing. Still, Clifton Collins Jr. is great, so I'll check out the sequel just because he has a role in it (he was great in Sunshine Cleaning and perfect in Capote).
