I've got an AGASA account, but do I have to do anything other than subscribe for GH:WT on the Games page?

I'm not sure actually. This is all we know right now ...
"Follow the AGASA link, register to take part in the National Final WCG 2009 and stand a chance to challenge the rest of the world. Make no mistake, this is not going to be easy, its you against almost 100 other countries!!! GOOD LUCK! "
Will try and get some more info from them.

Here is some additional info ...
Registration for the competition is only online at agasa.co.za – for now at least. If they do not get the 20-30 odd registrations online, then it will be opened on the Samsung stand (Stand V) on the day.
The WCG competition will only run on Saturday 3rd Oct.
Registered gamers will compete head-to-head on the stage on the Samsung stand in a ROUND-ROBIN competition.
Thereafter it will play into quarters, semis and finals all within a day.
The winner will go to China to compete in the WCG Guitar Hero World Tour comp, against all winners from other participating countries.

More info on how the comp will be run, rules and also the tracklist that will be used can be found here (http://gaming.do.co.za/articles/localnews/world_cyber_games_at_rage.htm).
You dont need a NAG LAN ticket to participate in this competition as it is being held on the Samsung stand, which is located in the expo itself.

The official WCG rules say the game will be played on expert difficulty. Couldn't find anything in the local docs talking about that... I'd be keen to play, but don't we have to pay some sort of AGASA registration fee?

What? They choose a 'lucky' few contestants? Sounds idiotic.
Signed up anyway....
