Saw this last night. In short: let's hope it really is the final.
Possible spoilers ahead.
While the previous three gradually became more clever and inventive in the way things got set up leading to a death and often even throwing you for a loop, the new one is pretty much (bar one or two of the incidents) a rehashing of old ideas and too many lazy copouts to be a worthy successor, like cheap use of the tired old "look both ways (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LookBothWays)" trope. Groan.
Even the 3D presentation is not enough to salvage this as anything more than a generic popcorn flick, best left unwatched until it appears on TV for free anyway.
