Now the brown noise is a interesting theory about the use of a specific frequency to make people suffer bowel movements but if your your looking for an interesting story I'm sorry because my thread isn't about it but rather my parents' tv which makes an annoying high pitched noise that only I can hear. Now my family(all except me) has lost part of their hearing and I want to know what can I do. Should I wear a mask and cape and save the world with my super hearing or change some settings somewhere or something.

Disproved by the Mythbusters, by the way.

It's natural. Generally younger people can hear much higher frequencies than older people. In the UK they use tone generators generating very high frequencies to stop teenagers from loitering around shops. It has absolutely no effect on older people. Nothing you can do about it except get used to it.
OFF: @goleastro, that indeed would be "kiff" :P

As Leeroy said it's normal. Most CRT TVs make the noise, it's just a result of how the TV works, you shouldn't get it from LCD/Plasma TVs.
I'll admit that although our TV does make a noise, it's usually negligible compared to the noise from the TV show or whatever I'm watching. If the TV is on mute, I can hear the TVs on from next door, but it doesn't bother me.
