I think it's good that we are sticking up for and protecting her. I don't know much about the intersex issue so I'll leave it at that, but I'm pretty sure there isn't a division for "everything in between".

Aaaah, the African way. When they don't get what they want, they smash things and kill everyone instead.

That would be an interesting topic for future history classes - RSA started world war 3 due to other racist nations questioning the sex of the SA record holding athlete... lol
I would not be proud to be part of that.
If only the IAAF were more discreet.

And nobody takes the time to be just a little bit more considerate towards the poor woman? What the hell has our world come to, that something as lame as this creates such sensation in the media?
But saying we would start a third world war over this doesn't really do anything to help either.

There are ways of doing it, and there are ways of doing it. And the SA government and ASA are doing it wrong. Threatening wholescale global destruction is lacking in tact to say the least.

Actually, from the better articles that I've read about this issue, I get the feeling that the IAAF are not the bad guys here. When they became aware of Caster's phenomenal times and the rumours surrounding her gender, they instructed ASA to let her undergo tests (which they deny). This was all on the hush-hush before she left for Berlin.
In fact, the IAAF advised ASA to not let her compete in Berlin until this issue is sorted out. ASA decided against this. Then after winning the gold medal in Berlin the media picked up on the story and the rest was history. I cannot see how the IAAF is at fault here.
(Also, when I read that statement from Stofile, I read it as "Third world" war, not WWIII.)

Well, you heard them just after the elections. They stated that if Zille didn't stop badmouthing Zuma, they'd make this country ungovernable. Oh, and they also said something about an army being ready to mobilize against her. R.O.F.L.
It's the only way our government knows how to react.

I didn't say I agree with the way in which they are going about things, I'm just glad the government is at least on her side and actively fighting for her.
And come on, he just meant that there'll be quite an uproar should Caster be banned from future events. Stupid headline is stupid.

Heh. If our country even attempts to go to war with another we are dead. This country is so ****ing retarded. There have been gender tests many times before.

Seriously, what Parker said. On the off chance that anybody in this thread thinks SA is threatening a literal war, I'd advise re-reading Stofile's comment. He's likening their pursuit of legal action to a third world war, yeah, but this is clearly an offhand flavour comment.
Some ambitious journalist just decided to take this tiny part of the overall discussion and bloat it to become a headline. Gogo misrepresentation and reader luring. :/

Don't take the statement as literal it's clearly meant to be used as a metaphor.
