Listening to a bit of Ugly Duckling (Journey to Anywhere), simply because I've been listening to mostly deeper/srs albums lately, and well - Get's really repetitive and breaks the mood a bit, so bah.
Some jazz aswell, Michael Franks and Chuck Mangione is love.

i have only listened briefly to minutes from midnight, but it is different to the usual stuff, the single from it ( forget the name ) sounds like the theme to Halloween at the beginning, but all groups change with the times if they churned out the same music they would never increase their fan base
squishy
11-07-2007, 02:56 PM
I'm not sure if this change was really done to increase their fan base though. I think they're trying to change their target market altogether. Their style has changed drastically, and I know a lot of die-hard LP fans that are very dissapointed with the new relese.
After a couple of listens I've realized that for me, Minutes to midnight is their best work yet. And I've been a LP since the beginning.

I find it funny how Mike, that is pretty much non-existant on the current Album, "ruined" Linkin Park. But yeah, it's not like he did most of the production work for Meteora and Hybrid Theory. It's also not like he gave the band it's art direction, which played a huge role from setting it apart.
Yeah. His fault.

Josh Ritter, The Animal Years.
Honey how you gonna make it on your own?
Honey how you gonna make it on your own?
When you wake up in the night
And see the stars just city lights
And you can't find home?
You act like you don't need nobody else
And you dance like you don't need nobody else
And all the other moths need light
To circle round while you just fly
Around yourself
Oh I stir my sugar with a spoon
And watch your white dress float around the room
I try to see what you're about
But even my candles are down and out
Honey why you gotta hide your face from me?
Honey why you gotta hide your face from me?
Will I starve in this eclipse while you treat every hungry kiss
Like one more mouth to feed?

Like the great dB just said on IRC: Music. Serious business.
The lyric aren't emo. You're just judging the song on the last paragraph, amirite? Not the style, sound or the rest of the lyrics? Nubcake.
You wouldn't know real emo even if it bled on you.
Edit: Keeping with the theme of the thread:
A lot of Thrash Metal like Metallica, Shadows Fall, Slayer etc
Mostly listening to Alt. Hip-Hop at the moment, compared to the Nerdcore trip (Del, Doom) I've been on lately, albums of note:
Eyedea & Abilities - First Born
Brother Ali - The Undisputed Truth
Sage Francis - A Healthy Distrust
Aesop Rock - Float (More Avant Garde Hip-Hop, but Alt-Hop's a blanket term for small splinter genre's anyway)
Cannibal Ox - Cold Vein
yea.

Del the Funky Homosapien's Both sides of the brain.
It's a pity (and too an extent frustrating), that I can't really discuss him on NAG - Yeah I'm registered on some Serious Business music forums so I get my discussions in there, but still.
For those that don't know, or read the posts in this thread - He's a semi-nerdcore Alternative Hip-Hop artist, and seriously (imo) one of the current best emcee's. Making references to chemistry, Transformers, Anime, gaming and not only making it work but making it more than just a silly joke. He's awsm.
Currently listening to his "Proto Culture (http://www.lyricsdepot.com/del-the-funky-homosapien/proto-culture.html)" which I guess is more a lighthearted track revolving around gaming and gaming nostalgia.
Other stuff in rotation, some Beatles and some Reggae in the form of Peter Tosh's Legalize It album. -insert generic weed smoking smiley hurrr-

"Füchse", dude! Song nr 3 off of Bambule - fattest ****ing bass that side of the year 2000. There's also their remixed album Boombule. Not that great, but I recommend the version of "Liebes Lied".
I violently concur. The bass on that one is jawsome. To be honest, the **** response to the remix album made me not bother with it at all, but I'm Soulseek'ing the version of Liebes like you recommended. <3

Jimmy Eat World's Futures album. Not as great as Bleed American, but better in some places. It's "darker".
Also the Future's EP "Stay On My Side Tonight". The song Disintegration is probably the best Jimmy song ever imho.
OP, don't you think it would be a good idea to attatch the album cover(s) tof the albums(s) we're listening to? :p
