Wii does it not work?
Miktar
23-07-2007, 04:48 PM
Because I got one that has the manufacturing flaw, that eventually results in it not working (much like the 360). It starts off as random pixels on screen, eventually degrading to full-on video memory corruption with huge green splotches of noise on screen. No fix - and I bought my Wii in the US, so I can't replace it. No, I can't just send it back, the process to RMA is highly convoluted not worth the effort. I'm just going to have to buy a new one at some point, but I can't buy one locally when they come out here, since then none of my games will work.

Yeah - except PAL games usually means 6 months late and double the price.
X-Ploding_Shoes
23-07-2007, 05:31 PM
Ya but it also means not having to go to the US to get them or ship em over. My nerves cant take shipping over. And then of course once again there is no way to replace em!

Shipping games here isn't an issue for me, but getting the console replaced is. :/

It used to be like this but I've since upgraded and cleaned it up. I'll post a new pic soon. I also game in the lounge which is very open and cold and kind of messy.

Okay, - we're talking about Cambridge Soundworks speakers, which were the top-range ultrabest back in like 1994. This is 2007.
Are you trying to compare a Model-T classic car, to a modern car? No, you don't do that.

Miktar

PAL PS2 is a PS2 Silver.
Nice clean setup!
Thanks. :)
I hate loose cables. It was tricky making it look neat because you see the rear of the desk so it looked terrible even with all the cables neatly tied up. So my dad just mentioned to me that I should just use trunking (I think that?s what it?s called) and viola, nice and clean. It's really cool because you still have play in the cables so it's not like everything?s tide up and can't be moved an inch.
Yeah, like, the PS2 did actually come out in a silver finish.
You're kidding right, it did?
Yes Azimuth, I like, totally knew that. It looked white in the pick.

@ dawid22: you are the king.
:) , I miss some of those consoles (for all my Dreamcast and N64 but such is life I guess) I kept Resi Zero and Remake on Cube, Resi 2,3 on PS1, Resi Code Veronica and Resi 4 on Cube, Silen Hill 1 for PS1, Silent Hill 2-4 for PS2, MGS Twin Snakes for Cube, MGS2,3 for PS2 and God of War. That's it.
I also had the Silver PS2, but I have to be honest, I hated the slimline PS2. Never had one of those as my friend bought one and it just seemed so cheap. The large PS2 is still where it's at for me, and the Silver just completed it.

LOL, yeah, I know what you mean. To me 8bit = NES, 16 bit = Mega Drive, 32/64 bit = PS1, 128 bit = Cube and current gen = 360 at this point in time. Best is to have it all if you can I guess. Well, I'm really glad to see that of late NAG has so much console content :)

Our second computer has the 4.1 version. Going on 6 years now.
@ dawid22: Thanks man. I agree, you're best option is to own as many consoles as possible because theres just so many awesome games out there. The problem is the moola, not so much because of the consoles. I mean, buying a console is a once of deal, it's constantly buying games for them that hurts you're pockets.
@ Miktar: I like the mats, my boet's going to buy them soon so I'll probably try them out then. They look like tons of fun. I only played DDR once in arcades, I love it, I just have a problem with performing in front of a crowd you know. :)
@ LaziDemoni: Nice, I like.

@ Miktar & dawid22: how often do you guys still play on you're old consoles?
Well, when I still had my consoles I played on several of them daily. I actually played Rockman (or Megaman) 2 and Battle Toads late last week on my rip-off NES and it still provides me with so much geniune gameplay. To be honest, the best game I have ever played is/was Super Mario Brothers 3. It will be a long time before I see a game of such quality, depth and immense fun.
Basically I only have the Cube left other than the NES which gets lots of play time.
In short, yes, I used to play all my consoles all the time as the were permanently hooked up like Miktar's setup (with switches all over the place.) However, a lack of time to tackle newer games was one of the biggest decisions of selling it. I do very much miss my N64 and Dreamcast (and Shining Force on the MegaCD :( )

Perhaps I misunderstood the topic, but doesn't gaming setup mean like: Console, screen, peripherals and PC?
Not how many games you have on your shelves?
That being said, I must admit alot of you have a good selection of games :D
I'll upload my picture of my Beast tonight... if I remember

I also like neatness :) Although 2 or 3 cups will lurk around their sometimes, some papers will lie around but normally neat. My 5.1 is mounted on my walls to keep it neat (see the wire on the wall?) and my headphones are for late night gaming.
My 360 is either in the lounge (for the HD screen :D) or behind me by my TV.
