I'm definitely thinking of getting a subscription for NAG. But I am a little doubtful because I dont trust our postal service. Same reason why i'm sceptical of buying games on the net.
But I haven't used the post since like forever. So tell me, have any of you ever experienced problems? Which game suppliers are the most reliable for a South African?
Online purchases don't tend to go through the South African postal services. Check on the retailers site.

trust me boet. You are more likely to get your card swiped at a bar then over an internet purchase.
HTTPS (a secure version of HTTP which uses 256bit encryption) is highly tested and as soon as you input any passwords/PIN numbers/sensitive info, it kicks in right before hand.
I have bought douzens of toys/games/stuff online and my dad has purchsed stuff overseas and not one thing has been lost/stolen.
I subscribed to NAG at rAge due to the first issue of Nag being free. I have never missed a copy of any subscibed magazine to the post office.

Take2 and btgames are both great
Also, if you use your credit card on-line, banks provide automatic insurance so that if someone does somehow get hold of your account details, if you can prove no foul play, they sort everything out for you

I use Kalahari.net.
Delivery times are a mystery that only the driver knows but apart from that, good.

I've used take2 a lot and no problems whatsoever. Goods get delivered by courier.

I've never missed a subscription copy of NAG. I think it's been more than 18 months now.
As for shopping online, they use private or in-house courier services. I even ordered an Xbox 360 from Kalahari.

Can you purchase products online with a debit card?
No. Can't use a cheque card either.
Unless you use BT games where you pre-order and have the option to pay in-store

Depends on the place. I buy from take2 using the standard bank autopay thing. When I had to buy from wantitall I did a transfer via internet banking and faxed them the confirmation.

As long as you are registered with internet banking it'll work. It works beautifully.

What are my payment choices?
You can pay either by a Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express & Diners Club) issued by a South African Bank or Direct Bank Deposit or Internet Transfer.
Debit Cards cannot be used, you should consider an Internet Transfer or Bank Deposit as an alternative if you do not have one of the accepted Credit Cards.

Awesome, I prefer not to use my credit card.
Off topic: Checked out the Take2 site and I see they have Manhunt 2, is it banned in SA? Would it be legal to buy it?

Sorry one more question, I see they have different shipping methods, which would apply to me?

AFAIK it hasn't been banned in SA. If it has just don't tell anyone. ;)

Just use the standard courier one. R29 for shipping no matter how big, expensive or number of items you order at a time.

Also if you happen to live in the Western province region, or atleast near Take 2 you can go pick the item up as soons as possible directly from them.
Allthough they usually go like stink when it comes to courriers, Bioshock (on pre order) arrived within 24 hours the same with my Orange box.
they also have excellent customer care/service when it comes to any questions or queries on your product and it's shipping status or anything like that.
