Just wanted to see how much interest there was in something like this. Those of you familiar with Wednesday Night Fights may know what I'm going for here. Woofels and I are looking at setting up something similar to this up here in JHB and we need some feedback.
Nothing is final at the moment, I'm just trying too see how much interest there is in something like this and whether it would be viable to try and get something like this going.
Basically Wednesday Fight Nights in the US is a little tournament that happens weekly on Wednesday nights with entrants for multiple fighters usually Marvel vs Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat, Tekken and Street Fighter. Other games also make appearances.
Participants pay a small entrance fee to each group they would like to play in, so you pay to participate in Marvel and then again for SF. The top 3 then get the winnings from the entrance fee's.
It's something we would like to look into setting up and get some online streaming going as well as youtube videos posted up for each time the event happens.
So idea's from the community will be welcome as well as any other questions that need answered.
Again this is nothing solid as of yet but if there is interest then it will definitely happen. We have the equipment, will get the site and the infrastructure to setup streaming and capturing. So now we just need community feedback.
This is really just to get the community together and prepare everyone for upcoming tournaments, better our skills and not have to worry about losing out on practice due to horrible netcode in games
