Hey guys was just reading about Vista. It says that Vista Ultimate supports 2 processors but Home Premium doesn't, does that mean Duel Core ???? And if so does that mean Duel core wont work on Home Premium ??

No, it means 2 separate processors. AFAIK Intel Xeon and AMD Opterons can run in multi-cru configurations. Others might as well, there are others more knowledgeable than I around here.

A processor is the entire piece of electronic equipment. It is subdivided into different parts. The ALU (Arithmetic-Logic Unit), Registers, Cache and the CU (Control Unit). With a dual-core you have 2 of each, one for each core, bar the shared cache and register processors.

Now 2 processors will mean two silicon chips, whether they are dual-core or not. Examples are servers, like MrDevil mentioned the Intel Xeon and AMD Opterons are server chips.

For such an astute user of the English Language I would have thought one exclamation mark would have been enough.

Anger leads to hate, hatred leads to the dark side...

I'd also have preferred 'fastidious', or perhaps even 'punctilious', over 'astute' in that context.

Gah! Who cares, say what you wanna say, if you happen to not say it in perfect English, that's fine. As long as it's readable.

@R4mzy: DUAL does not mean DUEL. We don't expect perfect English, but honestly, how hard is it to understand that those two spellings mean to completely different things?

For some reason this particular substitution drives my synesthesia crazy, and it's constantly all over the forums. I think it's because dual = gray-yellow-red-yellow (syllable macro:brown, red) and tastes like non-sweet BBQ sauce, and duel = gray-yellow-cyan-yellow (syllable macro:green) and has a metallic taste like fish. It's like 10x worse than 's plurals.

Re-reading that I get the feeling nobody will be able to understand what I'm talking about anyway.

Hehe so much fuss over one wrong letter. Sorry btw I do not have the best spelling and I hear about it all the time from my friends I don't have an interest in spelling and as I am becoming a pilot spelling will be the least of my problems. I would rather spend time studying science or something that is enjoyable. PS. If is wasn't for the spell check on the post my spelling would be worse. :P

i would think proper spelling would help?

z0mg. I have music > colour synaesthesia. I had absolutely no idea that was some sort of pathological condition.

I didn't know about it until around 2003 or so, until I saw a documentary about it on TV where they were going on about how people associate colors with letters and numbers. I thought everyone was like that.

After paying a lot more attention I've found virtually everything has full-sensory components for me but usually most of them are just suppressed unless I really concentrate. Usually only the primary and secondary ones are apparent, like letters->colors or sounds->colors, but the other channels like sound->texture are there too, usually just more muted. For some reason reading's secondary isn't sound but taste, so I have an easier time spotting written errors because they taste bad. Which is why things like dual/duel drive me crazy. It's like going to Steers and having a 50% chance they've substituted the patty in your cheeseburger with a fish-flavored marshmallow. After a few hundred times you'd probably wanna slap the guy doing it too.

If you're having trouble keeping sequences of letters straight you're going to have a really hard time trying to sort out airport and VOR identifier codes.
