I've been enjoying this game for a while, still have a looong way to go though. Has anyone played The Longest Journey, the game that is set 10 years prior to the events in Dreamfall? I didn't know it existed until I played Dreamfall.
It seems that the Dreamfall saga will continue in episodic form.
What are your thoughts on the game?

Ha, I bought this game earlier today - I went on a classic game shopping blitz at HMV. I've not yet started playing it, but a roving salesman who noticed me looking at it became awfully enthusiastic about it. I've been keeping an eyeball out for it for a while now, and was rather pleased to find it.

I bought it on Steam two months ago. I'm really enjoying it, allthough some elements could have been left out imo. The first game was awesome. I played that when it came out, around 2001 (I think). Yeah, no new news has been released about the episodic, but I'm keen to look at it. Also, I made a thread at the old forums a while ago that they were looking into making a mmo of this as well.

I'm currently playing The Longest Journey. Its an awesome adventure game. Don't know how I missed this when it came out in 1999. The characters are all great and I've only encountered 3 puzzles where I had to whip out a walk-through (but that could be because I'm a bit of a dunce with some of these games). I seriously want to get Dreamfall, but the exchange rate is way against me (importing from the UK). Does anyone know where to get Dreamfall locally?

WARNING: Necropost, but I didn't see the point of starting a new thread.
I got this game this weekend from Take2 (finally), and have been completely blown away. I haven't been so intrigued by a game's story in years. The pacing is perfect, the character developement (thus far), while slightly cliche'd, is really well done, and the world that they've created is phenonminal.
The overall presentation reminds me of the Quantic Dream stuff. Very well written characters, fantastic setting, several intriguing story arcs, that all leave me desperate to find out how they're gonna tie it all together, which is what kept me up until 3 last night.
I am completely stuck though (just got inside the victory hotel, just found Razors lighter, need to open some hugh door), but I am steadfastly resisting the urge to get the walkthru (damn your easy access, internet!). Any hints?
EDIT: I love wonkers. I'm not a fan of "cute", but I just love him. I want one, and I want to take him with me everywhere I go in the game.

I just finished The Longest Journey. It was one of the best adventure games ever. One question though, before I buy Dreamfall off of Steam: how big is it?

I think about 3.5 gigs once installed. Will check at home.

Cleric, this may help you out:
Universal Hint System hints for Dreamfall. (http://www.uhs-hints.com/uhsweb/dreamfall.php)
(If I misunderstood, and you want the other game, then simply search for it on that site - I think that it's there.)
I don't know what the quality of this specific set of hints might be, but I've found UHS to be quite useful at times. ^_^
Note, however, that it's always possible that this set of hints might be less subtle than you might like.
Based on what I've heard of them, I'd love to have the two Longest Journey games - and I may well get around to buying them some day. ^_^

I figured it out. Forgot that the cellphones of the future can do pretty much anything.

You know I love adventure games. That said, in my humble opinion The Longest Journey = ****. You have to be masochistic to enjoy that game, IMO.

It's not great as an adventure game, but the story is phenominal.
It's like Fahrenheit without quicktime events.
