Personally I don`t see a reason to blog, or why other people would.

My summary of general blogging:

"Dear diary, today I walked to the shop. I saw a nice flower on the way." With some whining about this and that thrown in for edge, you know, to get hits. Like that women whining about Resident Evil being racist.

I'm just really not that interested in other peoples mundane lives and thoughts. I'm not talking about the folks who actually have something to say, but really, how many of those are there in comparison to the general noise.

What do people do that have blogs? read other people's blogs.

And comment on them.

The Wired blogs can be okay, but even they sometimes strike me as inane.

Not all blogs are crappy and mundane, just the majority are.

Well, I blog because its a great way to get to more people to my site and games. My blog is linked to a huge depot of game dev related blogs (http://www.qatfish.com), so people can easily pick up new versions of my game and new issues of Dev.Mag. Thus, I blog so that I can "extend" my craft.

So I guess I should post my blog then:

Sho 'nuff, there's a lot of junk blogs. Not everyone can write without sounding boring or trite. Here and there, however, are diamonds in the rough.

It's the social networking blogs that have spammed the "blogosphere" with inane mutterings. "Your voice is important, you deserve to be heard! Have your say! While we sell advertising and you get into a competition to see how many "friends" you can add to your list."

While it's great that people who have something to contribute now have the means; it also results in the people you'd normally back away from, while they ramble on about their children, stamp collection or adolescent debauchery have a platform too.

Well, not all blogs are about the person that writes for it. I have (had) a blog: www.ninty.co.za (http://www.ninty.co.za)

Has nothing to do with me!
