SoulCalibur V Tournament

For those that are interested I'm planning on doing a SoulCalibur V tournament at the end of the month, more details will come but for now the date is set for the 25th February.

The tournament will be a standard double elimination tournament, with best of of 3 games 3 rounds per match. Winners finals and grand finals will be best out of 5 games, 3 rounds per match.

I know a couple guys were very eager to start playing this after the session we had yesterday so lets hope for a good turnout and we may be able to incorporate this into future tournaments.

The Soul Calibur Souls & Swords Tournament by Get HYPE

Get Hype will be hosting the first SoulCalibur V tournament, titled Souls and Swords. The event will be taking place inside the AWX shop; registrations will be open from 10am and will close at 11:30 am. Brackets will then be drawn up and the tournament will start at 12pm. The Tournament will be run in a Double Elimination method. Matches will be best out of 3 games, 3 rounds at 60 seconds each per round per game, finals and grand finals where it switches to best out of 5 games. No custom characters will be allowed, Devil Jin Style will be banned and Dampierre is banned until he is made available on LIVE and PSN. All stages will be random select.

The winner of the tournament will be the proud owner of the latest SoulCalibur V Madcatz TE stick, (Recently Review on Lazygamer.net) thanks to AWX, Runner up Voucher prizes will be given as well.

Awesome turnout and awesome tournament, thanks to everyone for coming out and participating in the tournament, was one of the best we have had so far.

Had 23 entrants for the tournament, started at 12 and finished at around 13:30. Everything went smoothly with no real hiccups.

A big thank you to Tex and the AWX team for the awesome prizes and venue. The store was really great to have the tournament and we got great feedback from the players.

Also thank you to Lean from Comet Computing for sponsoring the SoulCalibur V TE stick for us. I am sure Draeka is going to enjoy his time with it.

Congrats to Draeka for taking first place, Wenza for 2nd place getting a R300 AWX voucher and Jag for placing 3rd and getting a R200 voucher.

Look forward to seeing everyone at the Tekken Fund Raiser in 2 weeks, more info too come soon on that.
