For $62.95, I just couldn't resist. I consider this penance for having never bought Quake 3 when it came out (I pirated it, like every other damn kid on the block).
SEE ID! YOU HAVE MY MONEY NOW! HAPPY?!
Happy to say own them all, except Hexen Deathkings...a great compilation you got there

Ooh! Sounds like a plan. How big is it to download, though?
Miktar

Not sure, Etienne. It's still downloading. I'd guess around 1.4GB.

OOOOOH! Commander Keen!

But... But.... Miktar, I know you bought Q3. Tin case. Remember?

Now I can finally introduce the office to Team Arena - anything to get them to stop playing vanilla Q3 CTF over and over and over...

You know, I think you're right.
I think I never bought Quake 1, now that I think about it. I know I bought Quake 2...

Miktar, will you please let us know the final size once it's downloaded? I'd really love to get this, what a completely awesome deal.

Sure. It'll take a few days.

Wow... if that was a boxed version I would have bought it by now...
Still ticked off that id software still hasn't made their old games abandonware, but this is a testament to this fact - they can still steal all our money :(

I wants it too.
And when it comes to developers, i consider them among the least of the greedy. (does this sentence even make sense?)

This pack looks so tempting...

Definitely on my list to get soon.

That's a bit steep...
Steep is an understatement. It's only the 8th and my cap is at 1.7 gigs of 3. Damn. But I guess those games will be worth it. Can't wait to play Heretic again!

Doom 3 alone is 1.9GB, after all...

Ah yes, and its expansion.
Understandable. I'm new to the whole download games from steam thing, but is it possible to download in portions? A little now and more next month?

Hmm, I suppose I could live without Doom 3 and the expansion. I assume you can download individual games, so that shouldn't be a problem. This is a tough choice though.

Yes, but then you pay more.
The id Super Pack is cheaper, than buying them separately.
However, every single game can be bought on its own.

If you buy the pack you have to download the whole pack in one go - you can't download bits.

However, if you already own boxed copies of Doom3 + exp, could you use files from your CDs instead? I believe it works with some Steam titles.

Do you really have to download all of them at once? Surely you can pause the downloads on the individual games in the pack like you would any other Steam download? Looking at Miktar's screenshot I don't see why not.
Back on topic: I pulled Quake down last night for $9.95. Awesomeness unparalleled, but it has no music. I thought they'd at least create digital tracks to replace the CD tracks from the original disk :(.

A whole collection of classic games. I still remember heretic haa the days of been turned into a chicken, back then I lanned with my direct cable connection
BTW if you had to download each individualy it would cost $213.90

You can pause the downloads, eg. pause everything and download <insert title> and once it's done do the next... Rinse and repeat.
I've never really enjoyed the id games for some reason. Not Doom, Heretic or Quake. Come to think of it, I never really enjoyed Commander Keen as much as the other games I played then either. Not that they aren't good games, mind, I just didn't enjoy them.

You can pause the ones you don't want to download right now, as everyone said.

This is a tempting deal, but then I realise that the games here I'm familiar with I've played and that retro gaming is often not as fun as you'd think.
