On Tues., President and CEO of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime told reporters that 95 percent of all Wii players are ages 6 to 24.

Additionally, Wii players are 66 percent male ages 25 to 49 and 33 percent female ages 25 to 49.

?Nintendo is not a fad. Nintendo is the future,? Fils-Aime said at its Tues. media briefing.

You've just stumbled across one of the biggest truths on the internet, actually. The idea of the "hardcore" gamer is really misrepresented and misunderstood, especially by the mainstream press. The hardcore is the giant, central circle of the gaming demographic Venn diagram, that forms a giant overlap with an almost equally sized circle that represents the Casual sector. The "Hardcore" we think of when we think hardcore, is actually the "Specialist" or "Hobbyist" gamer demographic that forms smaller, concentric rings on the outer perimeter of the diagram.

Basically, it's a problem of conflicting definitions.

Um, simple math 101, if you have two numbers that add up to 100 and you do normal rounding (not biased towards lower or higher) on them you will always end up with 100 or in a very special case 101. So, even with rounding that demographic is incorrect (considering that all people in those stats are probably taken as male/female only)

You're right. 33.4 and 66.6 would be rounded to 33 and 67(meaning 100). 33.5 and 66.5 would be rounded to 34 and 67(meaning 101).
