View Full Version : What Google products do you use?

Personally, I cannot live without:
Google Docs
Google Reader
Gmail
Google Notebook
Google Toolbar
Google Calendar
Docs forms the core of my work, since every scrap of writing I do, I do there. I have archives going back several years, which is useful when you need to search for something written years ago but all you have is a few loose keywords.
Reader, obviously, I use for keeping tabs on news. I have about 200+ feeds in there, which I scan through daily to see what's up.
Gmail, is a nobrainer really.
Google Notebook I use when doing research, it's a great way to cut snippers from websites and then reorganize into a structure.
Toolbar I use to access my Google Bookmarks, since it stores it online, as well as quickly search using the Gsearch on it.
Google Calendar is another nobrainer.
Which products do you use regularly?

Gmail, Gtalk, and the oh-so-damn-handy right-click Google search in Firefox, it rocks the socks. Slowly getting into Google Calender, so far - it is nice.

Gmail and Gtalk, mostly. Although the calendar is totally nifty.
I've only used Google Docs once, but it was actually rather swanky.

Google Docs has had several major upgrades over the last few months, I recommend giving it another look, Azimuth. Also, don't overlook Google Notebook - when it comes to writing Features, I find it invaluable.

Gmail which integrates nicely with Gtalk.
Blogger for my personal infrequent blogging. Also recently started using one for the news blogging for our racing league, which works quite well.
Google Docs&Spreadsheets - Also only recently created a global "calendar" spreadsheet for the league...the collaboration works well.
And Picasa.

I forgot about Picasa - I also use that religiously, as well as Picasa Web.

I cant live without Google Earth. I use it to check up on Area 51 and North Korea regularly to see who has the biggest nukes. Always support the side with the biggest nukes.

Gmail because it wins
Gtalk because it also wins
Google Reader because Outlook's RSS feed reader fails miserably
I used Calendar for a little while, but then I realised that I didn't really need an online calendar, and switched to an offline alternative instead.
Google Earth because it's awesome
And ol' Google Toolbar because there's nothing quite like a quick search bar.

I don't use any Google products except for the original search. You guys got any reason for me to get any of them?

I use:
Google: For searching for treasure and stuff :P
Gmail: For reading and sending top secret info.
Gtalk: Use it to irritate Chippit. Nandrew and Geo..mwahaha!
Google Earth: Because it's simply awesome. Look! I can see my house! :D
That's about it. Haven't tried the other programs yet.

Yawn. Alas my tepid worms, I hath returned from my brutal incarceration at the hands of Miktar. I have seen some rather disturbing signs. View this, my placid plebeians, as constructive criticism and not as slanderous behaviour. Firstly I noticed that almost every topic on these forums possesses the ability to put one into a perpetual state of utter boredom. The forums are suppossed to be new and improved and yet they remain as inactive and dull as the previous ones. People have resorted to talking about dull matters such as the various types of google software that each member uses. Instead of actually adding proper comments, criticisms or actual points about the various products, plebeians simply post their dull choices in a shopping-list like format. This is then considered as a proper post? Secondly, the topics created are simply stale clones taken from the previous NAG forums and revived here. Let us not let the forums deteriorate to the atrocious level of the once entertaining New Age Gaming magazine. I'd gladly point out all the flaws but tis would not be as entertaining as reading my Elizabethean sonnets. If it weren't for the actual game reveiws I doubt that anybody would purchase the magazine for the incredibly insightful opinion pieces written by the various staff members. The "opinion pieces" merely serve the purpose of providing space for the Nag staff to fluctuate their corpulent egos. Disgusting I say. Repulsive.

@King_Blueberry: If the site bores you as much as you say it does. Then ignore it. No one is forcing you to read it. Go somewhere else and leave us to post our "boring" threads.
Back on topic:
The only two Google products I ever used are:
Gmail - A hell of a lot better than yahoo's mail service even if it has less space.
Google Search

Picasa - I like the way it starts, its animation makes me warm and fuzzy towards it, as if its alive. It also helps me manage my pictures very easily.
Picasa Web - Helps me upload my pictures with ease, although I dont use it a lot, I do occasionally.
Google Earth - Cos' it is made of win. It is teh_pwnage.
Google SketchUp - Amazingly easy compared to ProDesktop and other CAD programs.
Google Talk - Very nicely done and aesthetic.
Google Toolbar - AutoFill is such a nifty feature, and the search function is cool for international sites, but when I want to look for an SA only site I usually just click the 'home' button.
Gmail - Reason I moved to Gmail is because I like big numbers, big numbers make me happy. It has a big number, 3 to be exact, it might not seem big, but look:
3 gigabytes = 3 072 megabytes
3 gigabytes = 24 576 megabits
3 gigabytes = 3 145 728 kilobytes
3 gigabytes = 25 165 824 kilobits
3 gigabytes = 3 221 225 472 Bytes
3 gigabytes = 25 769 803 776 bits
I worked this all out on Google's calculator BTW. Which means I use the Google search engine too.

This is an epic necropost, for that, I apologise.
I just thought I'd add that I've now discovered Google Notebook. All I can say is OMFG IT'S SO DAMN USEFUL!!!! I downloaded the firefox addon too, and my God: it is epic awesome. To be able to save little snippits and notes at any time, with almost no effort!
I was going through hell, having 2-3(or more) notepad files open at all times, to store little snippits of stuff I'll need later.
Thank you, Google.
