Following an announcement by Sony that the highly anticipated 'Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots' would be released in late Q2 2008, Konami has now confirmed that 'MGS4' will hit global shelves on June 12.
Metal Gear Solid 4'Guns of the Patriots' is set in a battle-scarred future where huge conglomerates fight for supremacy using armies of hand-picked mercenaries.
This devastated world is seen through the battle-weary eyes of an older Solid Snake who has been charged with infiltrating a number of key locations across the globe, including the Middle East and South America.
Featuring one Blu-ray consisting of both 'Metal Gear Solid 4' and 'Metal Gear Online', the release will herald the end of Hideo Kojima's involvement in the final chapter to the Solid Snake saga.
Konami has also announced that fans eager to join in on the action will be able to sample the public beta of the dedicated online title before its release.
