I want to buy sound for my car and just want to get advice on it if anyone can help me(I don't ****). I already have a kenwood 12" 1000w / 200rms sub.
I still want to get 6x9s, wich I think will be pioneer 300w.
What I really need advice on is the amps. I want clarity more than as loud as it can be and I've heard that I Should rather get a amp for the sub and another one for the 6x9s. And how is American Pro amps? hi-fi suggest I get a American Pro 2500w mono and a American Pro 300w 2ch amp. Any other suggestions will be greatly appriciated.

I have a 1400w 4 way amp, 2 channels run from my 350 6x9's(xplod) and 2 channels from my 600w kenwood sub, it is as much as I will ever need in my Corsa. When the sound reaches 45-50 you need to stand outside the car, very adequate. 80 is the hardest iv'e ever pushed it. Helped?

Average, my boy If my sound is at 20 it is hard enough. Pioneer 300 is really low if you want "above average", and 1 amp is enough, hi-fi corp is the incredible corp of the home and car world. Believe me 2000 watt is really the most you will need. :P

Psh. Shatter a few eardrums while blasting Cradle on the highway for a while, and then try go back to an iPod :P

Having decent car sound just makes driving so much more enjoyable, especially if you're the type who sits in traffic a lot.

Our car radio shorted out. :(

I think the electrics in the car are messed up, but I have no clue how to fix them.

I have a mate who can sort you out with advice-He installs Sound in cars while studying Networking at my college-No I don't know how that works in his head but he's sorting me out with sound next month.

Pioneer are decent enough speakers, the amps will probably be fine, the biggest issue when it comes to quality though is the head unit. Don't be afraid to splash out on a quality head unit. And yes, one amp for the sub, another to drive the 6x9's. If you're rear mounting them, get tweeters in the front so you have fill, you don't want the sound source solely coming from the back.

I already have 2x 4" and 2x 6/8" pioneer mids(i think thats what you call it) in the front. I don'y have a big ebough budget to also get a headunit at the moment but maybe later

I can afford to get a ice power 3000w mono for the sub (wich is kenwood 12" 1000w 200rms).
Is that too much and will I blow my sub?

Yeah, that sounds like it would push a bit too much through the sub. It's a mono amp, so 3000w in one channel, can't even trim it down. What are the exact specs on your sub - voice coils and ohms?

hmm...I don't know the specs,I can't find any quickly searching with google. But someone told me that I can lower the power/wattage ouput of the amp. Can I do that and how?

No, you can't lower it. The power rating of an amp is spread across it's channels. A one channel that outputs 3kw will stick to that. If it was a 2 channel amp, then each channel would be pushing 1.5kw and if you bridged them, you'd have 3kw out. You can combine them for more power, but not for less. The amp for the sub would need to be a kilowatt amp.
