If you have any suggestions/questions/complaints about the new Forum, please post them here. Please note that a suggestion doesn't automatically merit implementation, and complaints will be investigated by the staff and handled accordingly - we do not have time to reply to every complaint individually, but rest assured each complaint will be read and investigated.

Why doesn't post count show up next to our avatars?
Because post-count is not important, and has never been important. I finally had the ability to remove it entirely except from user profiles, and I think the forums will be the better for it.

Post count isn't important, but I don't think it hurt anybody by having it there. What was nice though was seeing the "ranks" especially the funny/cool ones like leet and wuz evil.
I'm happy the e-penis is finally gone, Miktar promised he'd take it away ages ago and finally got around to it. Interesting plot twist is interesting.
But in all honesty, having to rely on the content and additions you bring to the forum instead of a stupid variable is jawsome.

The forum looks kinda compressed at the moment. Why not reduce the width a bit, so that in fit's better within the H scrollbar?
This is the Nag forum. Therefore the Nag logo should be on the left side. Seeing as the eye reads from left to right, the logo should be the first thing the viewer sees. Not the banner. Which belongs on the right side.
I personally feel the bars should be full red instead of red with yellow stripes. It would look more professional.
I'm glad that you got rid of the post counts. To many people with e-penis syndome around these parts.
It's a pity about Art Craft but other than that, the new forums are pretty cool. Just my two cents. :-)

Agree with cyberninja on a lot of his points above. Something with this forum doesn't seem to go well... looks and feels very disorganized due to the arrangement and colour scheme. maybe a revised colour scheme?

ill agree the logo should be on the right also it realy is narrow (im sure most gamers have a screen above 800x600 resolution?) and personaly i prefered the colour scheme from the old forum it felt well clean and organised
Edit i just had an idea for off topic how about an introdutory thread so that we can know the knew (and perhaps know some of out older layabouts abit better?)

Kaliningrad is a teeny tiny Russian exclave on the Baltic Sea. This should be obvious to anyone with a smattering of political geography - many Russian city names end in -grad, probably because гра́д ('grad') is Russian for 'city'. And stuff.
SkinkLizzard - are you using Opera?
I agree with most of the previously mentioned points, but maybe allow 2 images in signatures?

I knew Kaliningrad is a russian city. It's just when you see a city name in front of a country, the city is in that country eg "I live in Johannesburg, South Africa".
Azimuth

My previous post was badly worded. Kaliningrad is not only the name of the city, but of the exclave itself. Kaliningrad and South Africa evidently share the same time zone.

I'd recommend both Firefox and Opera over IE any day, although I've noticed that Opera has some weird caching issues - reverting to a previous version of a page, for example, instead of an updated version. It's nifty for some pages, obviously, but not forums. As for Firefox versus Opera, eh, they're really too similar to make a preference call on either one.

Personally I prefer Firefox but only because I have it fully costomized to my liking with plugins.
I have never used opera but Firefox is miles better than IE, I tried the the new IE7 but the original Firefox still is better for me. One feature that I really like about Firefox is that if your pc crashed and you restart and then restart Firefox it can open all the websites you where on at the time of the crash.

Perhaps - I just personally hate 24-hour.
Any particular reason why?
It's just every time i see 5:35 regardless of whether the suffix is a.m. or p.m., it always makes me think of what time I get up in the morning.
It's also nice being able to just check the time at glance. Factoring a.m. or p.m. takes an extra 1/4 of a sec to process.
Miktar
11-07-2007, 09:33 AM
Probably because I never learned to read a 24-hour clock easily. Maths isn't my strong point, and having to subtract 12 if the time is after midday just seems strenuous to me. AM and PM are such nice demarcations for what part of the day you're in.
As for the active members on each forum, I'd rather avoid that - I have my reasons. :)
i like it , think any n00bs will find it easy and not so many seperate forums to jump to , will miss the Art and Crafts though and the Trashcan but we will all get used to the new forums very quickly

Well this as most likely nothing do to with recent posts-not wanting to read 11 pages- but this new forum is actually pretty awesome, I love the colour scheme in that it`s not to sore on the eyes, its got quick post a very lovely layout and format very easy to navigate no post count(YESS), I believe that in terms of size kb its smaller.
one thing thou is the 10 post before you can make a thread, I can understand why it is there, but some people do join just to ask one question and they would quickly spam 10 to ask a question but that doesn’t actually happen very often
also the lack of sub forums like hardware is both nice and bad its nice because it make certain areas very lively however things like the hardware and sell/buy I felt was good but they could be made into one individual forum instead of 2
but my overall impression is very good if not the best one yet

I think it's purely a decision based on creating a community. From what I can see (especially with the removal of Hardware) is that NAG doesn't want people to come here to ask a once of question. They want people to come here to regularly talk about their experiences in games and/or other stuff (off-topic). For that reason I think it's a good decision.

So stop hitting refresh?
Or are you talking about some other problem, like the site not loading?
Often I get the screen:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.
...I don't think its my connection (I've done the whole diagnose connection problems and it comes up with "you are connected")

I've the had the problem as well on 2 different connections. I'll click on a topic and it'll say "not connected" then I'll refresh and it'll just work.

That's an ISP issue. It's especially frequent with wireless broadband.

Damn, it's so annoying. But I'm not on wireless broadband...though I use the adsl through a wireless network connection :(

I often get that, but not this site specifically. Just any random site will do it sometimes. It's like firefox doesn't even try to load the page the first time, and just times out instantly. :(

It's nothing I can fix, sorry. The problem doesn't lie with our hosting or the site.

Could we have a little icon for the site? That will go on my tabs... like the old forums.

Neither do I, actually.
Not gonna read all the previous pages but i like the new forum.
I like it that there is no post count anymore no more people posting stuff like "lol" to increase there post count. Only thing that i would like is if sigs was 450*120 but not gonna bitch about it.
Good job.

Miktar do you seriously want these images that we have made to use on the site?

When I see one that I think would be useful, I will use it.

What size do you want it to be?

What are you referring to, Chevron. The bars, or the icon?

I'm not really sure myself actually,
Hmm, Is it me or was the horizontal size of the forum changed back to the first size again?

The site needs a rule page.
So that newbs, know the rules, to prevent them from braking them.
ex. Don't Type Like This.
and d0n't us3 3xc3551ve 1337 5p33k (don't use excessive leet speek)
Both are annoying and hard to read.

How does one obtain one of those cool description thingies under one's name?
And Shadowmaster, for one who is concerned with form, your form must be looked at. It is not necessary to insert a comma in "So that newbs, know the rules". How inane, trite and petty of me. Hmm...

They seem to be granted at random. I'd claim I've no idea what precipitated my own, but that would be a rotten lie.

are you using firefox... I think like it's only firefox that atm does that or something

The easiest way to get one is to be anoying enough to be noticed, but not enough so to be banned. Failing that you can beg Miktar to give you one, but becareful what you wish for.
@Awsomemic: IE 7 also does that, if Chevron is indeed using firefox.

I am making use of the firebadger.
I'm using Firefox, and I don't have it.

Convert the image to a .ico file, rename it to favicon.ico, and then Miktar can use it on the site.

The site needs a better way to report threads than a PM.

It does appear to be rather weird....some lead to posts we've made..hmmm...can't figure out if mines supposed to be praise or scorn....the NAG gremlins at work again....but I like the feature...kinda adds a indivuality to the forums.
Miktar i know you want as few sections as possible but maybe you should consider brining back the buy/sell section it was really useful

The FAQ handles this topic, and the reasons we won't be bringing back Sell/Buy.
MITKAR I WANT H/T AND A/C BACK EVEN THOUGH I NEVER USED IT AND I ALSO WANT THE KARMA SYSTEM BACK EVEN THOUGH I BASHED IT KKTHX.
Someone just get dunjin back on the boards. I want to get married to him/her/it. ALSO, on topic. There's this point you reach where criticism stops being constructive and starts to border on annoying and pointless.
HINT: We're at that point now.
