360 Advice

Ok, so i decided to take the plunge into the 360 covenant and will be getting my console at end of this month (Aug) probably. Now my question is, which games to start off with? I dont have broadband at home yet cos im moving in about 3 months, so Live is not a reason to get a certain game for me yet. Sofar im thinking to get the following ....

- Gears of War (Have to see what the fuss is about ;))
- Flatout: Ultimate carnage
- C&C3 (Nag review convinced me with the console review)
- Bioshock

I think this is a ok spread accross genres to begin with. Do you have a better startup choice/advice for me or are these efficient enough in terms of awesomeness and time consumption?

PS: Im game for any type of gerne suffice to say that its a good game and kinda exclusive (not on PS3).

Overlord is oodles of fun. Oh, and Guitar Hero 2. That one's compulsory.

I'd say that Bioshock is going to trounce Gears, so you might want to lay the latter aside for the moment. It'll probably emerge in a budget reissue around Xmas anyway. It's not that it isn't an awesome game, but it can get in line behind Bioshock.

Don't know about you guys but I enjoyed Crackdown almost as much as gears.

The darkness - it needs a living host in order to survive, it wants to pick you.
Gears of War - Awsome single player and co-op game.
Crackdown - Cool for smashing a city up and throwing cars across streets.
Guitar Hero 2 - Azimuth is right, compulsory.

If you are getting your console at the end of the month look out for these titles in November.
Army of two - its the best single co-op game eva. (Because I say so)
Assasins creed - POP type game, just slightly cooler.

great selection but id suggest you take gears of war away and wait untill it goes best seller and get saints row (best seller) and DOA4(best seller) this will give you more playtime more games and you will almost have all genres covered and DOA4 will be a great multiplay if you get 2 controlls (wich im assuming you will eventually), bioshock will cover all your fps needs anyway :) have fun with ur xbox360 i sure am

Crackdown is definitly in the back of my mind, i just can't seem to choose it instead of one of those 4. As for GHero, i dont have enough bucks for a guitar also (damn engagement ring was more that i anticipated), so i'll pass for now. As for Mass Effect, its on my to get list, but so are many PS3 titles i want in November too. That month is gonna rawk (read: break my bank)! Thanks for the advice guys/gals, now its just a 2 week wait left. *sigh*

Having received some good news this morning regarding my annual bonus, I was thinking about climbing back into the console scene. Came down to Xbox vs PS3, and Bioshock is probably sealing the deal for me. It seems I too shall soon be another xboxen zombie. Woohoo.

Gonna be grabbing Gears, and then Bioshock when it's available in this part of the world.
Then I've got Mass Effect, Hellgate, Eternal Sonata to look forward to.

I see a slight improvement. You used a comma. Now you just need to try to get used to using capital letters and full stops. Then maybe we can start working on paragraphs.

@ gammaray: Crackdown is coming out on Classic soon, so don't get it yet. I'm keen at R250 but not more than that. So is Viva Pinata which I'm looking forward to.

of coarse bioshock and overlord , overlord is kif and u can never get bored of it ,and when it comes out assassins creed is a big one and flat is aparantly good donno realy never played it

Sorry, I'm not sure if this is illegal in "topic laws", but I have a relative question.
It's my Birthday tomorrow and I'm not sure whether I want a 360 or not. Reinher has made me taken "buying a new console" into question after he explained how mostly all the console games will turn to pc later.
I know what games I wanna buy, I'm not just sure whether to buy a console...any suggestions?

Seriously... I hardly get to play all my 360 games as it is , so the only way for me to get a PS3 is to sell my 360 and games, which is not gonna happen anytime soon since there are far too many awesome 360 games. BIOSHOCK ZOMG drool.

@ Gammaray - congratulations on taking the leap into the console market... you will not regret it i am a hardened PC gamer and recently (last December) i purchased a xbox 360. Best buy i could have got personally.

in terms of games to get...
Gears of War is a definite must even if you don't have Xbox live yet its great to see the Unreal engine turning out graphics you can hardly believe.

Crackdown is a fun game but honestly i reckon it can wait... one tip of advice, i look around at cash converters or the like and i've found some great deals on Xbox 360 titles.

I started out with Forza 2, GoW, Lost Planet (regret) and Guitar Hero 2 (one of the best purchases I have ever made) and now I have Bioshock(*wow*). Been thinking of getting FO:UC. I loved Flat Out 2 and still play it at LANs all the time, is this anything like that?
