Gldm and I played a game against two allied AI last night, after installing the new 1.03 patch that RADICALLY fixes a lot of the "feel" issues with the AI and the unit balance.
You can download the replay (it's fun to watch at 8X speed, you can see how Gldm and I harassed the AI and coralled them in by taking the early extensions) here:

(The replay is two files, because we took a break just before the end - the first replay is the one with Game Time at 00:00:00)

(Zipped version with the two replay files included together)

I am buying the game next week, then it's a +-10 day wait from take2 but it's worth it. I can not wait to play this game.

It is, officially, my favorite RTS - that's right, even moreso than World in Conflict, Myth II and even Z.

I ordered mine from take2 on the 3rd, an I'm still wating. So far they say the 26th.
Downloading is so much easier and simpler. Sure its a bitch when you do not have a huge cap, but its still a lot more simpler and faster. (unless you have 56k of course)
By the way Miktar, I agree, 1.03 is so much better.
1.03 takes away that whole inhuman speed advantage from the AI by reducing the ability to land-grab in the early game. You're not immediately trashed by an AI or player with a "perfect" opening gambit that just grabs all the planets before you've even got a colonizer built.

You forgot to say no pun intended. :)
You forgot to say no pun intended. :)
I never need to say that. When my puns are intentional, the suffering is heard for miles around.

Can somebody please drop a link to the patch. I have checked the sins website, but the patch doesn't seem to be there.
*EDIT* Please forgive my stupidity, I see you have to sing up with Stardock before you can download updates.

Yup.
But I still think you should try it again, with the patch, on a small or medium map, like a 2vs2 with an AI player.

Making post and grabbing for DVD.
Played it all day co-op, with direct IP to a friend. I love it. I'm Also really enjoying Assassin's Creed.
Okay I'm looking for some epic games. IM me pixelgoth@hotmail.com on msn if you want to play Sins with myself and a friend of mine. I'd like to get a biggish ongoing game going with direct IP.
Bumping this in case anyone else is interested in joining. There are four of us so far and 2 vs 2 is a lot of fun.
I'm not too sure how many people my 384 line can handle, but we have four people with pings ranging from 40 to 100. I'm pretty sure that anything under 250 is playable.
