Oh come on now. Some more details would really be handy.
-Do you get any error messages?
-Is the disc in the drive?
-Are ALL your drivers up-to-date (audio, gfx, directx, chipset, etc)?
-And most importantly - did you mix the mayo in before or after updating?

Vista's UAC gives kak with alot of programs. So if you're using vista try turning UAC off and running with full Admin privledges.

I know this sucks but try re-installing the game.
If you don't have a hard copy of the latest patch I'd advice downloading it instead of using the "auto-update" feature the game has.
Always try to keep a backup of all your game patches and never use auto-patch or auto-update features of games because then you'll have to update a game every time you re-install. You might not ever uninstall your games but what if your system crashes and you have to do a clean install of Windows.
This is general knowledge but I though I'd get it out there because I've had bad experiences recently concerning R6V and that auto-update thing.

Did it work before you patched it?
no, the game says i fail the recommended CPU(3.5GHz) but i have a duel core 4200+ witch runs at 2.2GHz and the minimum is 3.0GHz i pass that and its makeing my head hurt, so i think my PC is just ****ed up :/

No, I'd expect something like this from Ghost Recon's devs of late. In GRAW they wouldn't allow you to turn up the GFX unless they deemed it a plausable setting for your system. Try blackle-ing a fix, you probably aren't the only person who is having this problem.

Ive read about this everywhere. It has to do with the new nVidia drivers. As far as i know GRAW2 also has some problems with its shadows.

GRAW 1 doesn't even work with vista... so sad.
