I can't decide on a Sonic game

Hi there, I'm planning to buy a Sonic pc game. The problem is, i don't know which one to buy. I'm deciding on either Sonic DX or that Sonic game where you ride the hoverboards. Can't remember the name right now. I know both are on the PC as I've seen the titles in the stores.

Any help would be appreciated, and please don't say "Both suck, don't buy either one"

Closest thing to a real Sonic game is Sonic Adventure DX for PC (thats the first one you were thinking about), Sonic Riders is a bit lame if you ask me (IMHO). There's also one called Sonic Heroes which seems similar to Sonic Adventure DX. Just google them or search for them on gamespot.com

I don't trust review websites, I want to know what the players themselves think of it. refers to Assassins Creed reviews. Is Sonic Heroes on PC? And how about the PSP titles? How are they?

I ask you guys because so far all the games you guys said are cool, are well... cool. (with the exception of Max Payne)

I would avoid all the Sonic titles ported to PC.

The last good Sonic was Sonic Rush on the DS, before that it was Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles on the Genesis.

The next good Sonic will most likely be Sonic Unleashed, and the Sonic RPG from BioWare.

Sonic Adventure DX is fun for the first few levels, then it becomes quickly apparent the game actually blows.

I just wanna run, I love running and because sonic is so fast I like sonic games, and it's in nature, I draw my power form nature wether it's virtual or real...

A commendable recommendation. Fancypants is the best flash platformer evar.

Try emulation. If you want to play sonic the best is sonic 2 and 3 and sonic and knukles.

I've played almost every sonic game on GBA, SNES, etc I want 3D now. I did download a DS Emu but the framerate sucks with even a small game like Moorhun

This is true, I wasn't critical enough on the subject of those 3D ports. They indeed suck. Take Miktar's advice, you can't go wrong there.

Have you tried downloading DosBox and heading over to Abandonia? There are sure to be some fun platformers to play there.

Uhm, no offence dude, but I have Sonic Heroes on PC.. But, as you second sentence goes, nail on the head.. The game doesn't exactly suck, it just makes every other game look and feel like Crysis.. Well, the action is fast and it is entertaining, and indeed I can say that it's worth playing, but I will also say that I wouldn't recommend anyone spending their money on it, or any other.. Sorry.. BTW, Sonic fans, I have love for the Blue hedgehog, and that's why I said all that, trying to keep what's left of the blue guy's dignity.
