It?s an otter mystery why Torrent won?t get wet

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00198/Torrent_198701a.jpg

WATCHET Torrent the otter has a problem for a water creature: he can?t ? or won?t ? swim. The orphaned four-month-old cub was rescued near Watchet in Somerset in last month?s storms. But at the Secret World Wildlife Rescue centre in Highbridge, Pauline Kidner, the manager, said: ?He won?t go swimming; It?s very unusual.? She believes Torrent has a problem with his fur, because air bubbles form in it when it gets wet. It should be slick. ?I don?t think he likes how that makes him feel.?
