Now I have 3 Animes to watch per week. Wednesday Bleach, Thursday Naruto Shipuuden and Friday Fairy Tail \o/

To be honest here I never finished watching the Bountu ark. I just skipped until the sh!t got interesting again :P

I'm actually trying to catch up on Shippuuden now. I haven't been watching since Ep 123. Have no idea why though. But I still read the mangas weekly though so I know what's coming :P

Also I hope they kept the original Kakashi's voice from Naruto for this version's Kakashi. I liked that smug "I know everything better than you n00b!" voice of his.

^^ Hellsing was Ok... but I only really enjoyed the last 2 episodes. the new OVA's on the other hand, "Hellsing ultimate" are brilliant since they keep to the manga more.

The Kakashi voice from the old naruto was quite horrible, not the sound, the acting. He couldn't shout at all. Got to the end of the bleach Manga, so far, loved what happened to Icigo(?) but I feel the creator can't decide if the characters strengths are based on power levels or tactics. Characters that are shown to be weak, suddenly take out guys supposedly on a whole other plain of power.

It just seemed odd to me...

Finished Skip beat yesterday , cute story , made me laugh quite a few times. Ending was a bit dissapointing in my opinion , as I felt it left me hanging. . .

Got to the end of the Bleach manga and have to say, in the following issues they better explain what the hell is up with Aizen.

I can also see they're trying to decide whether the wins are because of power or tactics, because all the guys Ichigo beat the crap out of, are suddenly here taking out guys who are meant to be on a whole other plane of strength

Okay my anime report for the weekend. If I wasn't playing Borderlands then I would relax with the following:

Valkyria Chronicles: I must say this one isn't bad! I love the artistic texture style they opted for in this anime. It's got a fairly decent plot and a fantasy WWII setting as well. Definitely better than the game it's based on :P.

Neon Genesis Evangelion Rebuild 1.0: You are not Alone: Wow! If you haven't watched it yet shame on you! Go! Like right now! I'm waaaiting. (Well then again I've also just recently watched it. I am ashamed...)

Samurai Deeper Kyo: Sorry I only watched it until ep10 and found it to be stupid. There is absolutely no originality in this one IMO.

Wow. I must say episode 18 of Valkyria Chronicles totally surprised me! And the following ep was a real tear jerker!

When Welkin's sister, Isara, died and he had his breakdown after trying to act cool and calm was a really sad moment. I really really reeeeally felt sorry for the poor guy.

I can't believe I say this, but I'm glad I got capped. I took this time to watch some anim?.

Air:
I found this very funny, but at episode 4... I became depressed (because I couldn't cry). So sad.
I can see how Air and Clannad are similar. So far I think Clannad did something better than what Air did. More episodes. You actually got to know and started feeling for the characters before their 'story' is revealed.
In Air, things happen too soon (for me, at least).

Fairy Tale:
Really nice! The anim? caught my attention better than the first chapter of the manga did. Can't wait for the rest!

Higurashi Rei (OVA):
Finally got to see the last three episodes! So funny. And finally, I got to hear the awesome words mentioning Frederica Bernkastel.

Umineko no Naku Koro ni (or more specificly episode 18):
OMG! This had to be the biggest twist to the series so far! (Probably more than Episode 5 of Higurashi (1).) Beato, well done. I was completely fooled! Epic episode keeps this an Epic series!

Darker Than Black: Gemini of the Meteor:

The visuals... OMG the visuals... Loved the snow setting. Love the intro music too.
Story looks good .Yeah. This one is going to be so awesome!

Sakura tells Naruto she loves him and Naruto straight out rejects her. Though it might be she's just pretending so Naruto will stop chasing Sasuke but still... Epic Fail is Epic.

On the anime front, the Bleach fillers are confusing me. On, off, on, off.

I too read the manga and find it confusing why Naruto would reject Sakura after all this time??? She's almost useless even to a love relationship :P.

Heard about Naruto Shippuden on Disney? Some people claim it's been edited to death with no blood, language and corny dialogue, while others say it's exactly the same, it's just language like 'Kill' changed to 'Destroy' and Sexy Jutsu is now Hottie Jutsu or something like that.

I just finished watching the full series of Ergo Proxy.

Wow, just absolutely brilliant and mind bogglingly philosophical. For a quite a while I thought it was going to end in an weird twisted way like the "Evangelion" series (I found both Neon Genesis Evangelions' endings to be quite a mindf*ck, so to speak). Ergo Proxy's ending is much more palatable but the core of the series is very deep and the characters are well developed, although I find myself wanting more... I'd like see how much more the main characters can grow.

Do what I do: Play Borderlands or Torchlight (If you can do both at the same time I commend you ;) ) and in between when you're snacking or eating minimize and watch an ep or two of anime. Works like a charm!

been reading the Naruto manga OMG...Sakura confessed her love for Naruto head on, no holds barred, and what did Naruto do? He shrugged of the gal of his dreams (but I probably would too because a. he probably feels like nothing more than a replacement for Sasuke , b. he's so overwhelmed by the confession that he feels its too good to be true)

Actually most assume Sakura told him that, to get him to return to the village so Sasuke could be killed without problems, but Naruto picked up that there was something on going on. I assume she was telling the truth but was premature in confessing, plus she mentioned Sasuke about 30 times...which might have also had something to do with it. XD

Apparently the manga will go something like this for the next arc. READ ONLY IF YOU DON'T MIND POSSIBLE FUTURE SPOILERS ----> Sakura and gang hunt down Sasuke, they attempt to kill him, they all get their arses kicked, even Sakura, Naruto somehow appears (assume Sai tells him) has major fight with him, get the strange power when they combine their energies again, they pull a Vegeta/Goku and team up

I then remembered the 6th Hokage, Tsunada, says later that in reality, all the kids were put into teams to mirror the teams there parents were in.

Also watched Highlander : The Search for Vengeance (Anime feature film). Absolute greatness IMO. I loved the old school anime art style they opted for in this film. Kinda reminded me of Berserk but with flashier effects.

The characters seem to all have extra colour or effects and though there are still some 'quality breakdowns' during high animation fights, they seem to be better on the whole. Not to mention the music. The Jiraiya death in the manga wasn't all that great, yet the anime got me choked up and I even understood the whole "frog swims to the sea" imagery.

The Jiraiya death in the anime was a bit meh for me, and I didn't understand "frog swims to the sea" part, maybe I should just watch it again. As for the quality, I didn't really notice any change at all...

- Tried watching Shigufumi, but I can only find the first episode (almost capped too). OMG! The last scene of episode 1 was SO FRIKKEN awesome, much like the the end of Higurashi episode 1 and 8.

Ok I don't post in this thread all that much because I don't actually watch that much Anime anymore, (get my weekly manga fix though).

But I've recently started watching Darker than Black and I'm up to episode 6 of the second season, it's a fantastic show, kind of reminds me of the way I felt when I just started watching anime.

I love the characters and I love the setting, especially in the second season where everything just seems a lot -darker- and more depressing.

It's a little vague though, and in that regard it does irritate me from time to time, but a lot of the unexplained has had some light shed on it in the second season, although it'd be nice if they just covered some of the finer details of the world more thoroughly at times, instead of assuming that you should just -accept- everything.

Also started watching Trigun again, one of my all time favorite shows, Vash just rocks so damn much.

True, take Naruto Shipuuden for example, both Asuma and Ero Sennin died, not to mention Chiyo in the beginning of Shipuuden. But that's Naruto, now ever since Bleach started -none- of the good guys died, and even if they die, they'll just go to Soul Society.(Excluding the Shinigami, but even they managed to stay alive for almost 250 Episodes). It's become so bland that you -know- no one's going to die, especially in the filler... No suspense at all.

In Naruto Shipuuden, Asuma stayed alive for about 60-80 episodes., and even though I knew he'd die, it was still full of suspense. ;)

To answer your question about the Jumpfest, it seems like special episodes that are one time only and are available now.

As for Bleach 248 I really thought this arc was going to be special, but once again it's all about who can wave the biggest d*** around again it seems. Im starting to think they don't know how to continue the story and decided UBERPOWERRULESALL approach which 10/10 of Bleach already consists of. Fail!

Getting Naruto Shippuuden 138 now! I really want to see Itachi's spirit ultimate thing from the manga (I can't remember what he called it)

Bleach is a great anime and all but in my opinion Ghost in the shell : Stand alone complex the 1st and 2nd Gig takes the cake for me in terms of the execution of the whole season from the soundtrack(dont get me started on it) to the concepts viewed in the anime from sci fi to politics

I agree with you 100%, there should be more fighting and less emo-ghosts/shinigami. Although it's for people to catch up if they missed an episode or for new fans of the anime. It's so they can understand the characters.

....off topic a bit: you may not have noticed my absence, but I've bin on a bit of a NAG hiatus (even sacrilegiously missing the last 4 issues!!!)...
forgive me brethren, but nowadays most of my time is consumed by parkour and free running (not just aimlessly frolicking across a cityscape, but actual workshops, stunt work and casting), and I'm proud to announce that I am the founder and captain of a parkour team...having said that, anime and gaming have kinda taken a back seat :(

I did manage to cram Xam'd The Lost Memories....Brilliant Eureka Seven-esque short series (well it was made by Bones, the same people behind E7, and the Boom Boom Satellite opening theme was epic!)

Also started watching Basquash and Gun X Sword...
I think my preference is beginning to shift towards surreal fantasy and steam-punk sci-fic (after watching Xam'd and re-watching Last Exile)...
I loathe all forms of Echi and harem, so don't even recommend that sh## to me!!
I've also taken a strange liking to Drum and Bass music...so please recommend me any anime themed around that sort of thing...

Its weird in a way like ergo proxy, serial experiments lain, or the ghost in the shell movies
but its more colourful dealing with dreams and stuff.

Depends, things like Bleach and naruto are better in the Japanese version only because the Dubbed one sounds so freaking scripted( Except for Gaara, his voice is freaking awesome in the english version). But then you get things like Dragonball Z ( I Hated goku's squeeky ass Japanese voice), Death Note And Black Lagoon which are WWWAAAAAYYY better in the English versions.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of love for DMC here... so I'll give it some and say Devil May Cry is my all-time favourite anime. I 'watched' all 12 episodes in chinese - with watched I mean I was reading the subtitles and missing most of the action - and thought Meh, disappointing. Then I discovered there's an English dub and watched all 12 episodes again (and wowee, Dante's got a dirty mouth) and I LOVED it. How could you not love it? Dante's such a lazy smart arse, and even if the fight scenes weren't that long, and there wasn't enough gore, and there wasn't frequent reference to Sparda (or Vergil), it was still awesome because REUBEN did his voice! IMO, nobody can do Dante as good as him. Does anybody know if there will be a season 2?

And if you catch me rambling on about DMC a lot, blame your NAG magazine. If it wasn't for my brother buying it religiously every month and stacking it up in piles in his room (I might be exaggerating just a little bit), I never would have gotten into gaming, because I'd never have stumbled upon that article on the DMC series when I was looking to snip out some cool pics for my art book, and I never would have gone all out to buy DMC4, and I never would have gotten into the manga or the anime or the graphic novels... you catch my drift. Now that I got that off my chest - strawberry sundae anyone? ;)

I'm starting to notice that the Naruto manga seems to have far more respect for woman than the Anime. The manga even seems to go against the mold by having Sakura being far stronger AND more useful than our hero.

The anime (namely the fillers/outros) has had the female cast in bikinis, dog suits, school-uniform, naked -usually in a public bath or just some extra Compromising joke -all of which never happened in the manga (I know these events are short/minor/extras/outros but over the years they add up). Pic is from the part where Sai joins the team, don't ask me where they worked in Naruto walking in on every female in the village (haven't seen the episode- but nothing like that ever happened in the manga).

On another note, I started watching One Piece, (during my Nov Exams, VERYY bad idea), i was hooked, but has anyone found the show to be ..umm.. errr, well, Retarted? Its fun to watch and everything, but seriously, there some things which are just ridiculous, like Zoro's 3 heads and 6 arms technique. Sanji's Flame leg , and why the hell do none of the characters die?

i here you there, but i can tell you that bleach and naruto is aimed more at the west now. I have stopped watching naruto and bleach so have my asian friends, the begining was great but now it has just become to much westernized and has lost it eastern essence. My opinion is that many of the current best manga an anime is shorter about one to three seasons long and no longer deal with the traditional good versues bad anymore but more about what causes bad and good actions and that bad actions done for the for the good reasons can still be called a good actions i will contiue later have to eat dinner now!

I've already basically given up on bleach. It just fails on so many levels. The chararcters are inconsistent, the fillers are in the MIDDLE of an arc, instead of in between them. Honestly I got too annoyed at it. I'll still watch it every once in a while, But not with the anticipation that I get from a new naruto episode.

Code Geass is amazing an incredibly well thought out story. I prefered it to Death Note to be honest.

Has anyone watched Gintama? I love the bickering between Gintoki and whatshisface. Fighting about trivial things like mayonnaise, who can last the longest dehydrated in a sauna - I've never quite come across an anime like it. I haven't sat down to watch any full episodes yet, but the bits I've seen had me laughing hard.

And also, has anyone seen the Bleach anime movie? Is it any good? Do the voice actors from the anime series also do the voices in the movie? Our game store has a special package with the movie and the manga selling, but I don't want to buy anything I might regret. Is it anything like the earlier episodes of Bleach?

The series before Shippuden was cool till 150 odd and then we were treated to a flood of horrible, HORRIBLE fillers. Ninja postmen? Making noddles? Fail, fail and more fail.

Shippuden is pretty cool, but it's really slow paced(I take it too avoid more fillers). Still I prefer Naruto to Bleach.

one piece is BRILLIANT!!! Starts a little slow yes. But when the crew gets to teh grand line is when things really pick up. Its up to ep. 436 now and keeps getting better.
I'm pretty sure Luffy is strong enough to beat Ichigo and naruto :P

The characters are fun and lovable. The art feels weird at first but you grow to love it.

Just finished watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann... This is now in my top 5 Anime. I enjoyed it more than I have ever enjoyed Bleach or Naruto. It is most definetly the best mecha I have ever seen.

The final battle is between 2 robots that are larger than entire galaxies for gods sake, both of them standing at 100 million light years tall.

I think the fairy tail story is actually quite good, and dare I say, better/funnier than the One Piece storyline. That said, I still think that the first 10 eps of Bleach was some of the best anime I ever watched, but it degraded as the series went on after the First real arc.

Another thing I miss is the humor in Naruto Shipuuden, it's gone, there's nothing, unless I'm missing something huge somewhere. The current filler SUCKS, but it's to compensate for the 8 tails being sealed. YEAH, TAKE THAT YOU RAPPING SQUID PERSON!, so it's understandable in some weird way.

Also just remember that some anime will suck for some, but others will adore it, as in the case of fairy tail.

Yeah, I miss the humor too, I've noticed in the manga they've tried to inject it forcefully at strange times now, for example during the Pein arc Konohamaru attacks Pein and we get a flashback of Naruto teaching him advanced attacks where Konohamaru thinks Naruto is talking about a really busty Sexy-jutsu doing a pole dance -_-.

I hate to say it, but since Naruto 'grew up' he's been boring and now that no one hates him his character is becoming rather weak, plus he's getting emo.

It's pretty good and the changes are great though the 2D animation actually seems abit weak in some places.

Also the hints that this is all a sequel -while nearly all the chatacters seem oblivious keeps me guessing :)

Keep in mind I've only seen 3 episodes. Not sure this is worth spoiler tags since it's told within the first 5 minutes:
Naive alien girl, Kobato, with a very grumpy puppet friend, Ioryogi, arrive on earth. She wants to heal broken hearts so that she can have a wish granted. And from episode 2 onwards, she helps at a kindergarten. I presume this is where the story will revolve around.
The humour lies in Kobato's ignorance/naivety (that a word?) of earth and how Ioryogi keeps scolding her.

The Kobato manga, according to Wiki, is created by Clamp, creators of Card Captor Sakura, Angelic Layer, Chobits, xxxHolic, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle just to name the ones I know. The studio is Madhouse (not gonna name them (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madhouse_(company)#Works)).

So far I love it. It's different!

And .Wir, I've now only seen epi 1 of Nijuu-Mensou no Musume, and it's AWESOM-- no, EPIC!

Code Geass LeLouch of Rebellion Season 1 & 2
This Anime seriously blowed me away. It was way better than I expected and has everything a mech anime fan would love: Crazy ass mechs? Check. Over the top japanese voice acting (Zero in this case)? Check. Some serious LOL moments that make your sides hurt? Check. A very good story involving super powers? You bet your ass!

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan
I don't know what else to say about this one. It's short, funny as all hell and a good way to kill time. Story wise though I would look in another direction.

Ikki Tousen Dragon Destiny (Season 2)
Way better than the first season and some entertaining fight scenes in my opinion. Still, the story sucks ostrich eggs but it's getting there. Busy with Ikki Tousen Great Gaurdians (season 3). Will let know.

Mezzo Forte DSA
I honestly didn't like it. I don't know what it is, the tacked on story or the main character changing her look, I don't know. They tried to recapture Mezzo Forte and failed miserably IMO.

Now currently watching Blood+. So far it's entertaining and it's keeping my attention to say the least. Still have 38 episodes to go though.

I just saw Fairy Tail episode 10. I hope that it doesn't lose its humour like Naruto did, I love it when anime has comedy in between the action and stuff, it makes it so much more worth while. I really enjoyed the little humour Bleach had in the beginning, episodes 10 and 14(I think) being my favourite, I try and catch them on Animax when they repeat even though they're dubbed, just because I like them so much. :D

Also started watching Ladies vs. Butlers. While it wasn't what I was expecting the second ep had me ROFLOL afterwards. The last I lol'd so hard was the "spa" episode in Gurren Lagann.

First Naruto meets his father in his head when fighting Pein, now he runs into his mother while fighting the Fox. Seriously when the 4th sealed the Fox did the whole family come along for the ride, no wonder he doesn't date his whole family is watching. :D

The Pain vs. Naruto fight is everything I hoped it will be but orange eyeliner? I drew the line for Grimmjow with his' but this just looks silly :P Also can't wait to see Naruto meeting his father for the first time.

But following the manga I see the 8 tails is training Naruto how to control the beast! OMG! Imagine what the 9 tailed form of Naruto's chakra blast will look like!!!

Wow, fantastic Naruto episode. In the end of the episode when he threw the Rasen Shuriken and the credits came up I literally shouted "No! **** You!" because I wanted to see more... ;___;

Watched Episodes 1 and 2 of Stan Lee's Heroman, the art is pretty cool and the animation is very good -usual of BONES but I'd say better than Eureka Seven.

Some of the characters have retarded hair (friend and teacher are the only ones actually), or maybe it stands out due to the realism in hair style and hair colour of most characters and I also thought the main character was a girl for most of the first episode. XD

Pretty Cliche' yet strangely enjoyable. For one thing, the robot may do the work, but the kid (who's almost an anime Peter Parker without the Spidey powers) isn't hiding under a rock and gets into danger -usually meaning force fields and Heroman have to save his ass from dying. (Which he has to control with buttons, even though Heroman seems to be aware and providing the options).

I'm also surprised at how quickly it got into the Alien Invasion. Sure the aliens arriving and Heromans' creation are related, but I expected some 'smaller' events before America had a full on invasion. We barely know the main character, let alone his cheerleader love interest and America is getting hammered. Then again the series only started half a year ago and the anime a few months ago.

Well... I just finished Shigofumi (Letters from the Departed).
12 episodes of a rather interesting story. A nice mystery/fantasy that centers around "death".
I admit, to receive a letter from someone who is already dead would creep me out.

Not for those who like action. The depth of all the characters are amazing.

(Yeah! I'm watching anime again.)
