I'm going to get one, but does it come with a receiver? Asking people that've bought/found/somehow had the possesion of/stolen one before. . .

I can't comment on the wireless as I haven't bought the PC branded one before, but the standard wired one works on a PC if you let it download the drivers-and you could save a few bucks on it ;)

To use a 360 wireless controller on windows, you have to buy the Microsoft Wireless Peripherals USB device, that lets you connect their wireless gamepads and etc to Windows.
The standard 360 wireless controller doesn't come with a receiver, because the 360 has one built in. If you plan on using it on PC, you need to buy the receiver I talked about.

I guess I'll just get it and see. . .the wired one wouldn't hurt as I wouldn't be playing from very far back. But I can just see it now, I want to show my friends I can lie on my bed and still pla- Oh wait. . .I got the wired one. . .
That's the one Miktar was talking about.

From the marketing speak, it sounds like that particular bundle comes with the USB wireless adapter. Although it would be mildly useful to know for sure... I'd suggest emailing the site and asking.

It doesn't say that it comes with the receiver, so then it's just a plain ol' wireless 360 controller isn't it?

They're ambiguous, but they make it sound as if it's NOT the plain wireless controller, that somehow, this one is PC-friendly.

Emailed the local store I'm getting it from and they said it comes with a receiver. So I'll be getting that.
Thanks for clearing that up. The least they could do is put that little bit of info on the site.

Wait, so they keys actually look like an xbox controller?
Other than that, what's the big fuss all aboot?

It's an exact replicate of an Xbox 360 controller, just compatible with windows and comes with a receiver. It's for certain games that I would like to use a controller for.

BioShock, for example - much better on PC with a 360 controller, than with a mouse and keyboard.

I got the controller the other day and it did in fact come with the receiver for windows. Just so everyone knows.

Awesome, thanks for the update :)
I'll be looking at getting the same thing when I can afford it: My xbox needs another controller and I need the controllers to work in windows. Win-win.
